AA protection for planes

As the title say, there is a need to get some AA defense for the planes that are going back for ammo like in The pacific theater, and i am not saying this as a sore lose but to prevent no-life tactics like staying 15 minutes flying on the opposite spawn. I had a match today against a guy that was constantly flying in the opposite spawn in order to catch every single plane, and that’s the only problem of fighting against Germany, scummy tactics are their only strategy.

That doesn’t seem particularly scummy to me. It’s not like someone can always sit in a perfect spot waiting to harvest spawning planes.

Sounds like he was doing his job…somewhat

Pretty hard to get 2 planes at a time if they are both looking for you.

To be honest, flying around on the other team spawn, and mining rallies come from the same place, and have literally no counter, you can’t AA a plane that far.

I have no problem on being out performed by better players, i have a problem with this kind of “tactics” as a “doing his job”.

I won’t argue that your opinion is not valid but what should a fighter do if there is no opponent in the air at a specific moment but he knows another is coming very soon? It could work out that you have the jump on him - that’s the difference between flying in the general area of a plane spawn vs spawn camping.

I’m not sure why you bring up mines on rallies - I guess they are both things you strongly dislike.

Mines on rallies used to infuriate me but, I decided it was time to get over it after reading that dev’s have no intention of removing it and see it as a valid tactic (stated by a helper if I recall). I decided to just roll with it and save myself the frustration.

I am not a dogmatic person, i do understand that there is nothing to do sometimes as a fighter, that’s why some place to rest as the aircraft that have some defense would come handy and it can take out of the page that behaviour of being “flying” in the other plane spawn, just like in The pacific, where you can see that there are a limit on where you can follow the other plane and where you can “set your base” in the sky.

The mines on the rally its quite the same “tactical” approach than roaming the enemy spawn.

What makes you think that this tactic is only used by the German faction and not also by the Allies?
In my opinion, this sounds more like a general approach that players use as soon as they know the game mechanics, maps and spawn points better.

Because it happened to me against Germany, do you want the name? Just get it.

Then let him waste his time doing that while you cap the objective.

Yeah, i mean at the end of the day we won the match, but this “approach” of “game mechanics” it just make me feel that the problem maybe its not the game but the gamers.

Maybe i am getting too old for cheesy players on COD games like.

Its pretty rare to encounter these types of players anyway.

But if their best player wants to stay in sky and wste time while his team loses… im usually 100% fine with that if its an enemy.

Also remember killing vehicles is a current event task he might just be trying to getthat done.

Yes, is not a big common as the rally points miners, are not too many, but they make a lot of noise.

Plane got schooled three times in a row so it went straight to roam our spawn, it wasn’t a task achiever, more like a sweatlord.

Anyway this “mechanics” are part of the game, as someone said before with the mine rallies example “it as a valid tactic (stated by a helper if I recall)”, so this as many other things are not gonna be taken in consideration despite being popular or not. Game is going full BFV COD, and i think it’s time to let it rest and move to more adult approaches.

Unfortunately, players who just want to get kills are everywhere. :frowning:
Unfortunately, they too often forget that kills alone are not enough to win the match. It’s more important how you can best support your team.
In case of doubt, this pilot will only make 3 aircraft kills while his team on the ground loses the match.

Yes, the problem with the game is that is a “team game” but you upgrade by your own, making the whole exercise useless.

Anyway, i couldn’t care less about his score or how long it will take to research one weapon for that guy, i care about scummy cheesy tactics considered “game mechanics” and “approach”.

Games are ultimately lasting 10 minutes, everyone is rushing somewhere, your team is usually chasing tanks instead of caping points, game has lost the mojo and it’s going straight to COD BFV, which is ok for a lot of people that like to shot bots, mine rallies and roam enemy spawn points.

Well DF needs to actually address the problem then because this game is more focused on kills and doing things instead of working as a team and holding objectives.

So overall you should be asking for DF to restructure the gameplay so it doesn’t reward murdering so much and rewards teamwork.

A few many things should be taken in care if they really want to make a “team game” and not a “tank hunter” game.

And i do unterstand, why would you cap a point when you can go out of your way and chase a tank for good points, or chase planes for good points? Why would you not put a mine on a rally, why would you not roam the other team spawn?

Right now everyone’s chasing things is because of the event and how restrictive this game is and forcing us to do certain things But we’re not doing it by choice some of us actually need this stuff or some people wanna collect it.

So overall DF has made this toxic environment where everyone needs to get kills to just get what they need or anything they want done instead of having fun and it’s even worse for F2P players.

Yes, after the merge the game has gone into a heavy “CODialization”.

I can’t imagine how long can take for a f2p player to research things, and with the level lock you need to research things that you don’t even want, so you have to make more points, ultimately leaving behind the “team” aspect, and going into rat race mode.

Toxic is the perfect adjective.
