Currently the IL-10 sits at BR5 in the Soviet air tree and it has been rendered obsolete ever since the Tu-2s has been added. With 1/3 of the bombload of the Tu-2s, the only advantage the IL-10 has over it is the fact that it has 23mm cannons vs 20mm cannons.
Unfortunately this is not enough for it to be used, and at the same time there is a massive gap in the Soviet tree since there are no BR4 aircraft in the Soviet tech tree.
I believe the best course of action is twofold:
-
Move the IL-10 to BR4.
-
Add 4 RBS-132 rockets to its suspended armament.
Even at BR4, 2 250kg bombs is not enough, especially when compared to other nation’s aircraft. Giving the IL-10 rockets would make it the obvious and direct upgrade to the IL-2M and give it more flexibility with its role as a ground attack aircraft.

It’s kind of tough. Not many people even care about the Il-8, let alone this one.
Really needs to be moved to BR 4 along with the La-7 fighter

No matter how buff it, it’s not fit on BR5.
Crucially, the performance of the plane itself is significantly behind.
That’s why it’ll change it to BR 3 or 4, and we absolutely need a plane like P-47 Landless with 250kg x3 loadout for BR5.
In BR5, the performance of the plane itself has become important because it has to deal with jets.
Unfortunately, none of the USSR’s planes can match the P-47, Fw 190 D-12, Do 335, or Ki-83.
Rather, it’s easier to find a Japanese BR5 attacker.
That’s why Landless is the only way left.
I think the Yak 9 U could maybe could be take a High BR spot when added!
I don’t think so because the loadout is terrible.
The bomb and rocket cannot be mounted.
If german Wikipedia is correct than 2x 100-kg- Bombs extern can be mounted!
I think the 700 km/h top speed wouldnt be that bad
