A Radical Classification Method: The Year - based Grading Mechanism

Since the technology trees of various battles have been merged, we have become accustomed to seeing the Tiger King H - type or STG44 in Stalingrad. Real history is drifting away from us. Therefore, I propose a year - based grading mechanism that applies to weapons, vehicles, clothing, and battles.

Forgive me for not having the ability to create a preview. I’ll briefly describe this grading mechanism: Instead of being classified from Level 1 to Level 5, weapons and equipment will be graded according to the year when they were first produced or officially inducted into service (we can be flexible according to the weapon’s strength), and the same applies to clothing. Maps will be assigned levels based on the time when the relevant battles ended. This may sound a bit strange. For instance, if there is an STG44 in your team, you won’t be matched to the Stalingrad map. This is because the Battle of Stalingrad ended in 1943, while the STG44 was officially inducted into service in 1944 (it seems production started in 1943?). As for the G41, since it was produced in 1941, it can reasonably appear in the Battle of Stalingrad map. The same principle holds for clothing.

The advantage of this mechanism is that we can restore real - world history in terms of time to the greatest extent possible (even though significant concessions are made in terms of space). A clear timeline links everything together. We can even introduce weapons, equipment, and battle maps from World War I or the Cold War! Of course, this isn’t the most crucial aspect. After the new grading system is re - established, countries such as the UK, Italy, and others can be reasonably incorporated into the technology tree, without having to worry about the lack of BR5. Different camps can then be matched with their actual battles and opponents.

Of course, I’ve taken into account some extreme cases. For example, the Fedorov Avtomat was invented in 1916. We can either adopt certain measures to restrict it or just leave it be. After all, how could we complain about the advanced invention of Mr. Fedorov?

Sure, this mechanism is quite complex and has other issues. That’s why I say it’s a radical idea.

I agree with your idea that this can indeed bring players more immersion, and the Soviet Union will also become the best camp for early game experience. But there is one thing I am worried about, which is how to classify low BR weapons produced at the end of the war, such as MP3008, MP507(VG1-5),VG2。 It is unreasonable for them to appear in Stalingrad and Moscow, but according to this classification, they become scrap metal with no practical use, high research and development costs, and high prices?

Such an idea was attempted during the testing phase and was abandoned because the system was way too complicated and unbalanced.

If they expand Enlisted beyond WW2, the battle ratings for weapons and vehicles could be changed as follows:

BR I = 1910s WW1
BR II = 1920s Inter war period
BR III = 1930s Early WW2
BR IV = 1940s Late WW2
BR V = 1950s Korean war
BR VI = 1960s Early Vietnam war
BR VII = 1970s Late Vietnam war
BR VIII = 1980s End Cold war
BR IX = 1990s Persian Gulf war
BR X = 2000s Early Global War on Terror
BR XI = 2010s Late Global War on Terror
BR XII = 2020s Russia/Ukraine & Israel/Palestine wars

Consider there are already a mix of WW1 and inter war weapons and vehicles in Enlisted as they were used in WW2. The current BR IV and BR V would be condensed into BR IV, except with maybe some of the experimental guns and vehicles moved into BR V (1950s) like maybe the T20 or Auto-Hei or Conders.

Historical MM is and always has been a joke as far as balance is concerned.

For a weekend or so on empty test server?

No wonder it was announced failed lol

Dumb, only wanted by people who wanted to lol cow with USSR pre-1942 and Germany 1942 and 43.

Partially true.
Iirc they just made preferences for stuff such as M13 appearing in Tunisia but not in Berlin or sth. like this.

Ofc that system would already fail if you put stuff like ASS44 and T-26 together.

That test server was packed full with players so no it wasnt empty.

But than again it was more tied to powerlevel than anything historical (and even that was broken during ther test).

I heard stories about people being put against Tigers in their Stuarts because both were labeled N for Normandy, then screaming reeeee this system bad.

Which looks a lot like “not enough players for this BR Normandy match” problem actually.

Which is because its stupid.

Exept how is this a problem with player numbers if the MM does not discriminate between tiger and stuart players?
The MM did exactly what the devs told it to do when that system beeing tested.

My understanding was that the MM in question was supposed to be theater of operation division PLUS BRs, not without them.

It doesn’t take a genius that Stuart vs Tiger won’t make even the most hardcore of history buffs happy.
