Winchester Model 1897 for soviets, because we need a real shotgun if we wish to kill the fasists.

has for Axis. Franchi Automa 31. that is a italian shotgun.

both of then could be upgraded in guerrilha squad. since Franchi Automa 31. is a italian but civiian use shotgun.

The USSR does not need the Winchester Model 1897. Why would the USSR need the Winchester Model 1897 when it could have the Browning Auto 5? That would be more useful. For example, they were used to arm workers’ squads during the siege of Leningrad.

K.M. Siyangulov (left), head of combat supplies for the workers’ squads of the Frunze district, and A.P. Tsvetkov, head of the weapons warehouse, check the condition of captured rifles in their warehouse. Photo taken on October 24, 1941.

That Italian shotgun in the picture is from 2019 the franchi affinity labrador, I couldn’t find a shotgun called Franchi Automa 31.
Why would the Soviets need one when they can have both?

I thought it looked a bit modern. Perhaps the Germans could get a captured Browning Auto 5 (although not ideal, considering the Japanese already have a captured variant).
The Becker revolving shotgun
Or the Walther automatic shotgun

Both are Pre WW2 and German
and Cosmi Americo & Figlio produced a semi-auto shotgun in 1925
for an Italian alternative

I thought Walther had made an auto shotgun. It would be so cool to add. And the Italian one too.

If the Soviets would have had lend lease US Shotguns (which I don’t believe they did) the Browning Auto 5 would be a better choice in the game, especially since the Winchester 1887 was never used in WW2 by any faction, nor was the Winchester 1866 rifle for that matter, but for some reason, the Dev’s gave us both.
Being an American myself, I’m not complaining that the Dev’s gave us both Winchesters, just astonished the Dev’s chose to add them when they were never used.
According to my quick research, while the Soviets didn’t have lend lease shotguns, they did have a couple Browning Auto 5s left over from the Russian Empire, like the M1895 Winchester and Madsen. I suppose it’s not any less possible than the TOZ-B (which is actually a hunting shotgun, plausible in a partisan context).

I do like Shotguns, and do play Soviets about as much as I do Germans these days, so, the Browning Auto 5 would be nice to replace my TOZ’s with.
All my level two and level three Allied engineers use the Browning Auto Five, and I use the Ithaca for my level one Allies Engineers.
