A few words about the new Normandy map, updates, content, and a comparison with other games

I think it’s already possible to draw some conclusions about the “Operation Whisper” update, the cool new fixes, events, content, and compare it with other games.

First off, I’d like to comment on the recent big events: ISU-152 / Goose - they turned out very drawn-out. The rewards are justified, but the grind is never-ending, which is sad. I’m sick of it.
Thanks for two more MKb-42(M)s,

Spoiler

Since they drop from the box approximately never.

Now almost enough for a squad. The ISU-152 will do, though it’s not really needed. The Goose still needs to be finished - most likely it’s overpowered.
An armored car with an AT rifle in the tank slot - beyond good and evil.

Spoiler

Considering the reward the Americans got, this could have been a King Tiger with a 105 mm.))

The crates have become a bit tiresome; I’d like some unique event rewards.

Now to the recent Battle Passes: the BP with the Arisaka is absolute trash, the one with the Lahti is okay.

Spoiler

The magazine is certainly large, but that doesn’t really solve much: low rate of fire, high recoil. I personally liked the FN 1930 from the box better.
Overall, a specific piece. I hope it doesn’t get nerfed or moved, because it’s definitely no match for the TKB at BR 3 and 4 respectively.

Could have been worse, all in all.

Now for the sweetest part - the update, and this one is definitely not tasty, especially when compared to other projects.

Weapon content, vehicles, etc.
Japanese Grenade Launcher at BR 3 - essentially the only useful thing. A pleasant grenade launcher for its tier. BR 3 Japan is clearly nicer now.
Suomi - more cringe. They asked for something fast-firing at BR 3, got a broomstick on par with the PPD at BR 5. Essentially just a scam for donators and useless in-game.
Nashorn - cringe. Even at BR 3, hardly anyone would take it)) Another roofless, turretless barn straight out of WT - keep it up.
F7 something-or-other - like, what for? I guess it’s okay as a plane in a squad with the B-25, but again, approximately zero use. There was no need for it.
SU-122 - cringe. Another HE lobber for the Soviets at BR 3, also straight out of War Thunder.
In summary: 3 ports from Thunder, 1 scam, 1 decent thing.

Now let’s move on to what makes a “major update” major - the map.
And this is a complete catastrophe.
I thought nothing could be worse than Manchuria, but no, here we are.
There’s simply nothing to latch onto on this map. Zero unique and interesting decisions.
You can see the map is stitched together from Wald, old Normandy, and Manchuria. Besides, it’s visually heavily darkened. The steep trenches are back, the fields of fields and bushes of bushes haven’t gone anywhere — that’s exactly why many disliked old Normandy. The problem hasn’t been solved, only exacerbated.
An absolutely ugly, unplayable map, just like Manchuria. It’s a shame that all new maps turn out lifeless, overused, and uninteresting.

Special thanks for yet another scam targeting mammoths who buy squads in your game.
Shoving premium squad customizations into boxes at 300 gold apiece, and purchases for gold themselves - the apex of greed.
Many people originally bought premiums largely for the uniform, since premiums are 99% weaker than the tech tree. Cutting off premium squad uniforms behind a wall of boxes and gold is spitting in the face of your own audience. It could have been done properly, but no — eat what you’re given.

Smoothly moving on to graphics, effects, and animations.
Graphically, the game has once again become worse. Indoors are just hellishly darkened. Tracers and ricochets have become less realistic. The new running animation is awful - looks rubbery and unrealistic. In some places the animation is absurdly sped up. Overall, it was better before.

Summing it up: since the last “major”

Spoiler

With the cool Saboteur class.

No positive changes have occurred. We have another garbage “major,” packed with clones from WT, wretched maps, and gameplay degradations. There is no real progress.
I won’t even mention the scam with the silver boxes)).
But we still haven’t seen map/mode filters, camouflage/decals for tasks, a lobby chat, a clan system, high-tier rebalance, and many other promised things.))

Let’s take a look at what kind of major updates happen in other games: in Easy Red 2, they announced a big update: Operation Spring Awakening, as well as the Battle of Budapest, i.e., late-war battles in Hungary.

Spoiler

In one go, they’ll add night vision mechanics, lots of new uniforms, vehicles, and weapons. And that’s not counting the gigantic map. And all this within a small studio and primarily a sandbox offline project.
We can hardly expect anything similar here, I gather)).
It’s a pity that in this game, we’re only worthy of wretched maps from Snowy, clones from Tundra, and yet more variations of player scams. Thanks for the systematic degradation of the game.
The last pleasant update was “Wald.” After that, it’s been less and less, and worse and worse.))
