yes pistols reducing to 1 silver is another thing everyone wants by now i see, tho strong weapons being 3 silver is ok.
you seem to miss the point that “Not being allowed to use weapons” is mostly the same as “not having them”. because if you had 20 FG42s in berlin on your soldiers and now you can only use 4…nice, you just have dozens of silver and hundreds of bronze payed for the other 16 that you wont get back by selling because gaijin doesnt return 100%, only something like 10%.
if you write proposals like that, also add “every weapon not being able to be used is getting 100% refunded”, otherwise its just destroying other peoples things.
i mean come on, df isnt THAT retarded to the point where they’d forget to refund people for the things they took away from people, plus i did say that the weapons wont get insta-removed, they’d still be equipped, the player would just have to un-equip those weapons to go to battle
Well I agree some players maybe only use the best weapons on all the soldiers, personally for me that is not fun, I want to try different weapons in a match, I don’t have assault rifles in all my squads, I mix and have a varied selection, for me atleast this gives the most fun gameplay, I don’t have to try hard to get a kill.
Some weapons limited to some classes could be a more fair compromise than outright making some soldier tiers usless to bring into your squads, in your previous suggestion someone dedicated enough could still grind and get unhistorical squads full with max tier soldiers and only semi-automatics and assault rifles if they grinded enough, this would then still be a problem for you and your conciderations for new players.
so the middle ground could be to put OP weapons to specific soldier classes. if we ever get a paratrooper class, the FG42 spam could be easily solved for example.
Some useful information regarding the differences between tier I, II, III, and IV soldiers, is that each class gets more “perk points”.
Meaning, a tier III or IV soldier, has more options, for better perks.
For example, take a tier 1 soldier who only has 10 vitality points.
He is too low of a class, to unlock the 35% vitality bonus.
Or maybe he only has 12 yellow points, and cannot afford the -30% horizontal recoil reduction.
So the higher the class of a soldier, the more options you can choose.
And you can also potentially have multiple perks from the same category that are decent to use and stack together
I’m not contesting anything you wrote in your OP.
I’m only providing info regarding the difference in soldier classes (in case you’re aren’t aware of the bonus for grinding these higher tiered soldiers)
This is how I generally run my squads anyhow. My main squad has 3 PPSh-41s, 3 SVT-40s and one DT-29. It’s more or less historically accurate and that’s my preference.
Not sure how you’d spray and pray with bolt and semi rifles anyway. The only time I “spray and pray” with semi autos is in close quarters, and even then if I am a rifle armed soldier in a building I pull my pistol most of the time.
If you’re referring to not being able to walk into a building with a PPSh or a MP-40, spraying lead and walking out, now you’re being absolutely ridiculous. The entire idea of a sub machine gun is rapid fire, short range combat. This is -exactly- the tactic you use in a building at up close range.
I don’t know about limiting them. But making certain ones hard to use.
For example, it should be impossible to shoulder a LMG (Except maybe the BAR, FG42 and other “Automatic rifles”) and fire them. I’ve never held a MG42, but I’ve held a DP-28 at a machine gun shoot we have locally here, and it takes one heck of a man to lift one to your shoulder. Let alone aim and fire it with any accuracy. So I’d imagine this goes double so for anything heavier.
As a f2p player, It took me 15 months of playing, to max out my first fraction, Tunisia Allies, 12 days of time playing out of my 25 went to that fraction. And I played like an average of 2 hours a day. This proves your first statement wrong.
I misread that statement at first, and out of interest, I calculated how much xp you needed to earn per hour to unlock all levels in the campaign that required the least xp, if you played 10 hours a week on that fraction for 3 months straight:
Take the Pacific campaign, which has the least number of levels (29), it requires 2,664,500 xp to max out that campaign.
3 months=90~92 days, 91 days=13 full weeks, if 10 hours are played each week, 3 months=130h of playtime.
2,664,500xp/130h=20,496…xp/h, so about 20.5k xp every hour.
I bet that half of the player base couldn’t achieve that rate of earning. Because my average is 4,253xp per match, and I rarely desert matches, and the average match length is 26 minutes, I assume my average earning per hour is less than 10kxp. This is because I never bought or used premium, and a result of my playstyle and skill. But from my in-game experience, my average place on the scoreboard, after removing the bots, are higher than half of the players.
how I calculated my average xp per match
8505kxp from all my campaigns’ fractions combined and divided by 2000 matches (2026 matches actually, but some are in Tunisia Allies after I maxed it out, so I deducted 26) =4253xp.
My estimate for the time needed to reach max level for one fraction in a campaign is 3-10 months (average xp gain per hour (10k~20k) is my assumption for most of the players if they are to play 10 hours a week nonstop. Remember that 4 of the campaigns require about 4 million xp to max a fraction, which is about half more than Pacific or Stalingrad.
However, it is theoretically possible to grind one fraction of the Pacific campaign by playing only 10 hours per week and using 4 weeks (less than a month except for the month that occurs every 4 years) with premium.
2,664,500xp/40h=66,612.5xp/h
Imagine earning an average of 30kxp per match without premium.
i know it does, but the difference is miniscule, and that miniscule difference aint worth for how much you gotta put bronze orders into each soldier, which is why id lower the cost somewhat
yeah, same, it never made sense to me that a weapon of max 3200 total numbers has been equipped to every single soldier, it would make way more sense if mp43 or stg44 took the role of a rifle, fg42 was luftwaffe project, it never had support, nor anything to do with wehrmacht and other branches of the military, so one thing that could make sense is if only paratroopers get to use fg42.
also other low production weapons such as AVS36 should also be generally limited in such way that people cant find a loophole to being able to use them on every soldier anyways, something like weapon type limit per squad could do that trick imo.
eh, i dont know how that would side with the community, df already tried with the dispersion and recoil, and people didn’t like that, not one bit.
eh, i dont know how to go about this, but it generally depends on the gun and how it was built, and what ammo it uses, so generally speaking some weapons will recoil less, and some will recoil more, this, again, is all down to the producer. but all in all i wouldnt touch them, at most, id just fix their reload animations, so they’re longer and people can’t simply reload within 3 nanoseconds and to be able to shoot again. other stuff such as leaning could get changed so people cant manipulate the hitbox with the leaning mechanic
the difference is significant! some rare cases are actually miniscule like Engineer 1 → E2, but other classes completely explode, like sniper 3 and MGgunner 3 who can get 14+8 yellow perks. or Flamer 2 who can get vitality plus passive healing. also assaulter 4 exists in moscow, the class itself has a good starter perk and so high additional perks compared to assaulter 1, that the passive perkpoint effects (running speed, stamina, recoil reduction) add up significantly.
i feel that you mostly complained about the situation because you werent common with how the perk system exactly works.
good calculations; i extrapolated from my own numbers which are around 6500 pts + avg 5 medals. this way it comes automatically to get 25k without premium per hour, i remember how i lost most games when i started 1 year ago and then i barely got any EXP and was super happy about getting a random medal (was more fun actually than today i feel).
yes, it seems most people will have a slower grinding rate, therefore my general solution to the problem by reducing the exp cap for levels to 144000, making leveling much faster and fairer. they can increase the additional slots provided by premium accounts to 3 to make it more worthwhile buying and everyone will be happy.
i checked it out and im mind-boggled that assaulter IV actually exists
i think that with such new additions, they could actually add assaulter V aswell, and they could work something so that theres class I, II, III, IV, and V in all campaigns
