A discussion on how a theoretical chain of command could work (in the far future)

First of all, I want to clarify things before I accidentally start a war on this thread:

  1. This will more likely than not work in Enlisted’s current state of players.
  2. It would probably be too much effort for this to be implemented.
  3. It may or may not interfere with the real names of squads.
  4. I already know a lot of people here are going to disagree with me.
  5. This isn’t something I want added right away. I just would like to know how people would think about this.

Now that’s sorted, I would like to present an idea about squad names.

I did some research and it seems all the names are present. I think it would be interesting if, on the Gaijin/Darkflow servers, they had a list of regiments/divisions/companies etc. on their server and every squad enlisted will be chosen to join one of these based on how many squads they lack. (The servers can’t even handle the game at the moment, just keep in mind).

Matchmaking would also take this into account, giving a greater chance you’ll play with other people from your regiment/division/company etc. and stacking with someone with a different group than yours would try to account for both of you, like a combined regiment assault. (Right now, players seem one-sided and we have bots to fill in the gaps, so this probably won’t work yet, either).

(Personally, I’d love a Heroes and Generals world map but with more realistic battles, but that’s not what I decided to discuss).

Sorry, I meant more often to not work.

And please move this to Discussions, moderator.

Any organization of teams in-game is welcomed, tbh.

I really don’t think this would have any impact on gameplay. The only thing different gameplay wise between different squads of the same type are the png that represents them and their squad name. It sounds like you should just join one of the competitive communities or something.

To be honest, I just thought that it would increase the chances of being able to interact with others since the game bases itself on teamwork and the use of rally points.

Nothing competitive, it would just make it more likely you’ll bump into someone you’ve been in a match with before without necessarily having a stack (besides, I doubt anyone has enough friends who play the game to make a full stack).
