A console player's thoughts on two campaigns

This is my own personal thoughts and notes and can be biased due to only playing one side on both campaigns for majority of the time (Axis) and also from a console vs console experience covering the campaign on Moscow and campaign on Normandy so if I’m wrong or biased towards something please let me know

In this post I’ll be covering my thoughts on Normandy and Moscow, mostly criticism and thoughts good and bad. Starting with Normandy in which I have the most time in (2 days and fourteen hours campaign level 20 for axis and level 3 for Allies ) of which I’ve reached level 19 (Axis) without premium but with premium after that so I do have some experience on the campaign of which most of it I have enjoyed (especially after turning crossplay off) until seemingly recently with recent updates. The updates I’m mentioning is the high caliber update specifically the nerfs that came afterwards and the addition of WP and the overheat time for machine guns. To start off with WP it can be spammed hard at the moment especially considering grenade backpacks and how large of a radius it covers, if it for instance covered less of a area and didn’t go through walls but was more lethal with less time duration it could help balance it out. As for the overheat time on the MG it could have the time increased for firing or cooldown time slightly decreased or an addition of a perk to increase the time firing. One other part is HMG’s and their effects on sandbags, this could be nerfed a little by having say 10-20 rounds before a HMG destroys a sandbag instead of instantly. Moving onto campaign map design wise I feel it is balanced a bit minus the horrid airfield map for defenders and ruin of vaux with the bunker towards the end for defenders (instead of having the capture point 10 meters from the bunker it could be moved closer to inside the bunker). As for weapon balance it seems fine but MG squad dispersion needs a major fix.

(Edit due to accidently sending before finish)

Now with Moscow (6 hours and level 9 axis and level 4 allies) it seems to be balanced albeit more towards the German side from experience but tanks are not as powerful here compared to Normandy and less automatics and no WP, overall I’ve been enjoying it more than Normandy at the moment with maps being more open bolt actions really shine here with a mix of close quarters on some maps. Honestly no complaints for maps on Moscow or gameplay, explosive packs are still abundant but not as bad due to how much they were nerfed.

(Edit 2 adding more to Moscow section)

moscow is the best campaign in the game and it’s mostly balanced. Sometimes you see better allied teams sometimes better axis teams. Maps are very good and gameplay is very relaxing. But don’t think tanks in Moscow are less powerful. In moscow you don’t have access to RPG so it’s much harder to kill a tank, Which is why in the last couple of weeks people have been abusing tanks especially axis players because of Panzer 4 tanks. Panzer 4 is a powerful tank unlocked early in the campaign (not so early but not late either) so that’s why axis teams got strong so much

Allies do get very powerful tank t-34 but later in the campaign (t-50 is powerful only against other tanks)

Trust me tanks are very strong in Moscow, that’s why I avoid using them

The maps are pretty good, and thankfully I haven’t run into a T-34 or T-50 at all and may of seen a Panzer four maybe once so can’t say much on that part, only T-28s making a decent bit of trouble but sacrificing a guy with a explosive pack on the back of a tank has helped quite a bit. I will say despite being pretty weak armor wise the panzer II can be pretty lethal to infantry if someone knows how use it with burst fire.

As a fellow console player I want to put in my two cents. I play with cross play off tho. Moscow is fairly balanced the t34s at the end are countered by the later panzers especially the f2. Most people won’t have these tho. Normandy is different while axis have the stronger tanks, Allie’s tend to control the sky and a good p47 pilot can wipe all axis armor out. Infantry weapons are balanced out mostly except for the early at. Axis kind of get better assaulted weapons like the mp43 but these are countered by the m2 carbine. What I have trouble with is the player base . Play station players in my experience and I run into these people the most, are dumb as f@$&. Yes the average player is an idiot but how are the majority of PlayStation players I run into that bad. 30 kills 9 squad wipes and they never touch obj. It baffles me. Are they all from CoD?

Normandy as Axis against a good pilot can be a nightmare, and I’ve ran into a lot of smooth brain activity on Normandy specifically on Axis side (Xbox one console) especially with no one building rally points, fortifying points, marking, ect. while Moscow I’ve usually seen at least three different rally points on the map at a time, could be with Normandy probably having more of a inexperienced player base due to the fact it’s Normandy, one of the most well known parts of WW2. Which is another reason I prefer Moscow, planes don’t really seem too deadly so far from what I’ve experienced.

Basically no one complains about panzer 4, where are the abusing panzer 4 coming from? The early panzer 4 was added 2 years ago, did Moscow Axis become powerful in the last 2 year?

Many people are complaining Soviet tanks are too good in Moscow, but you just decide to say German panzer 4 is very powerful.
