37mm m6 M2 canister shot

This is really simple give all american 37mm guns acces to canister shot these rounds saw extensive use in the pacific and would definitely make 37s more of a threat against infantry

Actually cool, historical, unique and fun addition to the game. An interesting alternative to HE rounds.

Basically massive shotguns for tanks.

Good old t-28… Only worse

It wont be that bad these round only had about an effective of 200 yds and at that range they had like a 60 ft spread

I want to believe it.

I can only say this round probably won’t be viable gameplay-wise at all. The T28 used this type of shell before, and it couldn’t penetrate tanks. Its anti-infantry performance was also worse than HE rounds. This ammo works by pre-setting a detonation timer to burst mid-air, wiping out clusters of foot soldiers. The catch is the game has no proximity fuze mechanic, so even if this shell gets added, it’ll just be dead weight.

War Thunder spent five or six years adding timed fuze shells for the 88mm flak truck. No one expected they’d bother implementing fuzes for such an obscure ammunition type. They wouldn’t even add shaped charge rounds when they re-released the M8 Greyhound for sale.

This shell does not operate with timed fuze it operates the same as a shotgun

It’s not an AT round, it’s an anti infantry round

That doesn’t sound particularly useful to be honest. Either you hang back and it’s essentially useless or you get close to use it and wiped out by someone with an explosion pack because infantry support doesn’t exist in casual games.

It is not a simple task for dev to implement shell that is not in War Thunder.
And even if they implement such shell, the effectiveness will most likely be bad consider how shotgun was implemented in this game.
