Looking through the armament options of some planes in game via the WT wiki, I came upon 2 very interesting armament options that the JU 87 D5 can take that could maybe work in Enlisted. These are two types of gun pods that would replace the wing mounted 50kg bomb racks while leaving the main bomb rack for the 250 open, and both could be interesting to see. The first type brings six MG 81 machine guns with 1500 ammo per pod, meaning you get an astounding 12 machine guns with 3000 ammo, which could make strafing infantry and engaging other planes much more lucrative.
The second version of gun pod brings two 20mm MG 151s with 400 rounds per pod, so an additional four 20mm cannons with 800 rounds in addition to the two 20mm cannons with 1000 rounds built into the plane by default. Like the other gun pod type, this would significantly increase the strafing and offensive ability of the plane at the exchange of payload, but trades pure volume of fire for a bit more punch, but do keep in mind that we can’t choose the belt in enlisted, and it would use the default one, and not the armor piercing belt that would make it more effective.
As for the BRs of these planes, it could go in a few different ways. If these version kept the 250kg bomb mounted on the center, they could reasonably fit at BR2. If all bombs were removed, the version with the MG81s could probably fit on BR1, but the 20mm version would very likely still be damned to BR2 without any payload. Due to the amount of power the 20mm version has, people might want it to be BR3, and if it goes there, it could maybe upgrade the 250kg bomb to a 500kg bomb to match the BR better since the R2 at BR2 uses the 500kg, but I think that might make it a bit too powerful, and forcing a stuka into BR4 wouldn’t be fun. So what do you think of this suggestion, forum members? Would this be worth adding, and if so, what BR and payload should these 2 planes have?
