2 small changes to the HMGs and Bombing runs that could really balance them out

  1. Make the marker to shoot at the planes of the bombing runs appear from much further away when using a piece of equipment meant to take down aircraft. This includes other planes, AA turrets, SPAA, and HMGs. This way they can actually be shot down BEFORE they drop their bombs. Currently the lead marks only appear when they are directly above and dropping bombs already.

  2. Make sandbags stop HMG rounds for much longer. It currently only takes a couple shots to break sandbags with them. This means that any building they can punch through the walls of are absolutely worthless as cover. Understandably they can shoot through wood walls, but we have been killed even through brick walls by them. Making sandbags a solid counter to them is needed for both offense and defense.

contrary to popular belief sand bags are not good at stopping anything bigger then a 7.62, and most of the guns in the game fire larger rounds

Quite sure theres reason why such invention as sandbags are still in use.

and you could send a 2nd round and go nearly 2x deeper and those are potato sacks

I don’t think you quite grasp the concept of how SANDbags work. Its not like you are hitting a solid wall. It absorbs the hit and the sand shifts to fill the hole. You could hit the same spot over and over again and it wouldn’t do that much to it. Your best option to defeat sandbags is to defeat the BAGS not the SAND. You would have to really tear them up to be able to get through it.

TUSUPOLISI69, Thank you for posting that video.

as it empty’s it collapses and you dont just send one bullet you send a few
sand bags against one bullet yea sure the bag wins but MG VS sandbag sand bag looses every time
even the .303 could pucnch though with in two bullets

the whole concept of sandbags were to protect aginst arty and shrapnel as since its not a solid object it could absorb to the point that it is nullified,

I really think you would benefit from going to a range man. I can tell you firsthand that STACKED sandbags absorb a lot more firearms fire than you think it does.

by what alot of the civilian calibre weapons 5.56 and 7.62
and i have yet to find any .303 for my smle mk3* that has a ww1/2 grain load

30-06, .308, .338, 7mm magnum, .44, and more. Different loads with a lot of them. I’ve had the opportunity to fire a .50 as well, and that range had sandbags on the backstop.

My point being as far as the game goes, not just for realism purposes, the sandbags need to be more durable. Its that simple. The sandbags currently last for far less time than they should, against plenty of different sources. HMG is just the most recent and really doesn’t have much in the way of a counter right now.

back stop agaisnt a wall? or a whole pallet load of sand bags

its one of the games core intentions (not that it holds to it)

The discussion is getting off topic, I’m looping back around to “for game purposes”. The game is based in realism to a certain extent, but the problem is that some things have to be adjusted for because of things like “respawning”.

Point being, sandbags are capable of stopping bullets. Even higher caliber bullets. An actual HMG would not break a sandbag wall in 2 shots, therefore it shouldn’t in game. More durability needs to be given to sandbag walls.

they are capable of stopping A bullet or two at most then they rest would just go on though

agasint det packs and bombs yes

What is stronger?
Explosion pack that kills tanks
or
2 HMG bullets

the sandbag may surprise you

Can Sandbags Really Stop Bullets? Let’s Find Out! - YouTube

This video doesn’t include sandbags made of the same material that one would have found in that era, but this should give you a better idea of just how much fire they can take.

jesus christ these sand bags are fucking massive
and yet again yes 9mm wont do much but the 7.62mm that is of lower power then just about every rifle sized cal in ww2
also yet again “lets jsut shoot it a few times i dont want to disprove my point”

alot of the videos you will find and post will be using less powerful rounds and less lethal rounds then what was commonly used during ww2

unfortunately I dont have machinegun to do the same test but theres 20? rounds to sandbag(s) with moist nugget.

Yeah, well sandbags are still in use by probably every military in the planet.
I highly doubt that any military would waste time and resources to build a fortification that can be destroyed by 1 belt of machinegun.

a bad video but again it comes down to grainage
people dont use war time loads in there cartridges due to the higher levels of wear and tear

Well we proved the sandbags are rather effective way to protect yourself from small arms fire.
We also concluded that pretty much every military on planet still uses them to this day.

Now, good luck on your journey providing us evidence how the much better ammunition & weaponry of ww2 will demolish sandbag fortifications with just couple of hits.
