Here are default aiming:
Here are aiming with zoom:
And here are breath holding aiming without zoom:
If you don’t see differences between 1st and 3rd pic, me neither.
Suggestion: change “zoom” zoom with “hold breath” zoom.
Additional suggestion: Attach optic function to aiming (2) instead of zoom, because detaching “zoom” from LMB makes your sniper aim like this:
Breath holding isn’t an extra zoom option. Its to steady out your shot.

But shots are already steady.
Not on all weapons. BA are mostly steady, with the exception of snipers. MGs can make use of this sometimes too i’ve noticed. ARs sometimes need it.
Anyway, fact, that scopes is attached to “zoom” function is very strange.
Are you talking about default controls? Or are you talking about custom setup?
Custom.
Default zoom is very disturbing and useless in cqc, so I’ve rebind it to the shift for long shots, but because of that I’ve encountered sniper problem. And “kill 100 with a sniper” weekly task coming soon.
I’m on xbox and custom set mine to use zoom and ADS with the same button, due to lack of total buttons I figured I might as well group them. Though thats just me. It doesn’t seem to give me any issues when using a sniper though (though to be fair that is rather rare for me).
That’s because scope use is determined by “zoom” option.
Same, but completing all weekly task may be the last option for me to finish BP.
I’m guessing you didn’t buy into it then. Even so, does it really take that much to finish it without buying in? My buddy doesn’t but he doesn’t seem to be running into issues completing them. I’m just curious.
I skipped lots of days.
With every day playing there would be no issues.

Holding your breath is not about the zoom, it is about steadying your sights for a shot.
You say the shots are already steady, but you would be surprised just how much your weapon moves while you are aiming.
If you found some way to mark the very center of your screen, you would be able to notice just how much your iron sights strays about when you are not holding your breath.
