Japan actually is fantasy land, however despite of fantasy I come to bring a BR IV or V bomber made in 1945, it’s a prototype, but at least they build few ones of them, perhaps premium, perhaps event, but not for TT, for TT they are other things who can be imported from war thunder, now you wonder, what a hell is the Yokosuka P1Y1?, well it’s a bomber made in Nakajima plant, if I remember well, Ginga (Francés by allied forces), for further info about the plane check here, you can see all the info you need about the engine, payload, etc.

I like it, though I do wonder which is a better payload to give it, the 1 800kg Bomb or the 2 500kg bombs?
I think that BR4 would better suit this plane. Its bomb loadout is “only” 1000kg, which is worse than Ju-188 and simalar to the US A-20.
Yes the plane seems fast with decent defensive armement, but I think that we could have it at BR4 to make it more inline with the currently available medium bombers.
These are the loadouts available in war Thunder for the P1Y1.

Since it would just be ported over, its fair to guess that the loadouts would be the same too, jsut like a lot of aircraft in game which carry no where near their max theoretical limit.
Yeah, a shitton of variants were made for this bomber, you can check on wikipedia: Yokosuka P1Y - Wikipedia
Man, the “ground attack variant” would be an absolute meme if it was added, and they made around 30 of these.
I’ll let you see by yourself what this variant is, I don’t want to spoil the “fun part”.

Yeah, I know about this one too, lol.
incredible idea, would love to see gaijan add it
What Japan really lacks are aircraft like the B6N1 with 8×60kg bombs, the D4Y4 equipped with rockets, and the B7A1 that can carry 3×250kg bombs. The P1Y1, on the other hand, lacks forward-firing weapons and is more tailored for anti-ship operations rather than ground attack. Even in War Thunder, it’s rarely used for that reason.
At least that’s how I see it. Right now in the game, the 500kg bomb on the D4Y1 is already more than enough to deal with any American tank on the Pacific maps. What Japan is really lacking are ground attack aircraft capable of carpet bombing with large numbers of light bombs, or aircraft equipped with rockets for engaging infantry columns. Even more so, Japan doesn’t have any attack aircraft that can carry a large payload of 250kg bombs while also having decent forward-firing weapons for anti-infantry or air defense roles.
That’s why, in my opinion, the P1Y1 is far less essential than the other aircraft mentioned above.
