It’s not a conspiracy, it’s logic. Like he said, in War Thunder, new players scramble to get Tigers, Panthers, BF109s, and Me262s. These new players learned about these machines watching goofy old WW2 movies, “History” channel shows, or playing ridiculously unrealistic games like Medal of Honor, Call of Duty, or Company of Heroes. All these things reinforce fantasy lore about the supremacy of German tanks, guns, and aircraft, so the players expect to be unstoppable and play like fools. Then they get their asses kicked by machines that are more-or-less equal (and sometimes worse) than the ubermensch vehicles they worked hard to unlock.

Even if these players didn’t turn around and constantly whine about how their German hardware is underperforming, their lackluster battle performance lower the general statistics that the developer uses to balance the game. To the War Thunder devs, Tiger/Panther/Me262 players were constantly getting their asses kicked, so obviously something had to change. We’re these machines actually bad? Of course not, but because of their “legendary” status they were often used by inexperienced or foolhardy players. As such, the vehicles were “balanced” and now get to pretty much exclusively punch down. It’s not a problem most of the time, but when experienced and capable players get behind the wheel, it becomes a bloodbath.

Enlisted balance is quite similar in my experience. If FG42s were only being exploited by goofy noobs spraying automatic fire everywhere, I wouldn’t care, but when an experienced player on the Allied team faces an equally experienced player on the Axis team, the Allied player is at a disadvantage in every way (save the P47). The FG42 is a superior firearm available to almost every class. The MG34 is a superior MG (I love the BARs, but they can’t sustain fire or hip slaughter like the belties). The BF109 is a superior fighter plane. The Panther is a superior tank. These things are all balanced not on the performance of a factions’ best players, but on its worst, and Germany (in my experience in both WT and Enlisted), has the worst players around because of silly notions about how unstoppable they’ll be with German kit.

I mean we balance many things with magazines in this game. The ZH29 (which wasnt even issued by Germany) had 20 round magazines yet in game they chose to use the 10 which is a good idea. I dont see much difference here. Historical accuracy has been tossed long ago

My idea: give the 10 round magazine variant to everyone, the 20 round variant to the Gunners. Move the M2 carbine to the assault class and replace it with the Johnson 1941 10 round rifle. There, now everyone can shut up

Nemcephiles are a separate kind of people… I don’t want to talk about them, they are terribly slow and bad thinking people.

So I avoid Normandy exactly because of this kind of (repeated many times over) post. But wasn’t the fg already nerfed a while back, by that I mean it’s ammo count lowered?

Anyway
Play Moscow ™ instead yada yada Stalin is cool etc. etc.

Yes and the large ammo pouch gives you a pretty good supply still. I also hate Normandy and the completely cancerous players it drags with it

It’s true isn’t it?
I mean even Berlin doesn’t have much complaints from, nowadays! Germans do have the big evil fg there too. But soviets have ppsh…

It’s always Normandy. All. The. Time.

I havent read anything about Berlin in a longgg time. Moscow has been brought up pretty often with the stupid PPsh vs MKB complaints.

I believe it mostly due to the fact that the allies in Normandy only have a glorified smg as their automatic “rifle”

Moscow has, yes… but at least there’s equal ppsh complaints vs mkb complaints… wich in the end equalize itself .

Being pretty high lvl over there (maxed) I can’t say any side has a distinct advantage over the other. It’s always “this side is a lil better at this, but the other side is a lil better at that.” Never by a big margin, it’s really nice.

So…

Play Moscow ™

that then ppsh against mkb, can’t see, one is an assault rifle “limited” to snipers, the second is a smg limited to assaulters, unless you spam the same squad 3 times (tier 1/2/3) they don’t give any problems and you don’t even see them much, people like to complain, the only negative side I see on the fg42 is its ease spam her, compared to ppsh41 and mkb

I love the carbine. With the -40% vert. Reduction it’s a beast. There’s still a bit of recoil to control even with that, however.

Maybe the solution the allied side seeks isn’t to nerf the fg42 (again) but have the general recoil of the m2 lowered a bit.

I’m forever AGAINST nerfs. They su**. But a lil boost wouldn’t matter that much I think.

I love the carbines as well but m2 still isn’t that great, as painful as it is for me to say, though some buffs that should return to the carbine family is the 20% damage increase and 10~15% ROF increase upgrade that all semi autos have. Though a little buff to the recoil wouldn’t hurt
