Yes, this game now has the new player protection... Only apply to the first 2 matches!

I just tried some matches.
The first two matches, do has humans, but very few, and I bet they are lv1 players. All using default weapons. Brings me back to the begin of CBT, when everyone start at same level. Using at least similar tier weapons.
In the third match. OMG, PPSh, PPK42, SVT, all kinds of high tier weapons. While I only get one SMG…

this one i hear it alot,

but, no.

it’s just casuality.

like, at the moment you don’t get " spared " for two matches with people matched of the same level.

never happened, in alpha, neither closed beta, and most likely not even open beta.

you just join sessions with people of different campaign era/level.

but, devs said that they are working on a prototype of matchmaker. so let’s hope for the best.
it’s not available yet though.

I actually quit 5 matches mid match, to try more “first” match matchmaking.
And tried 3 matches with second match. Still lots of bots, and no more advanced weapons.
Until after the 3rd match. I found my enemies has DP27…

It’s a pretty simple protection. But clearly not a full skillbased matchmaker.

i did the same with a “fresh” player which it’s one of my best friend.

i hopped on discord with him, ( as he was streaming over discord ) while i was on the train, and i noticed that the literal first few matches, he got matched up with @Shiivex which, he is not a new level at all. than he also faced mr @24811726 ( which he is not a new player as well ).

( i doubt they can remember my friend since they play alot, and that’s understandable ).

but the main point is, you generally connect with other people of different level just to make a match.

If he gets/got matched against me on the first matches is indeed a problem…

That won’t be fun for him. Or neither for me.

luckely for him, he was in your team :joy:

did we won his first match?

yeah.

he didn’t do much thought, he just looked at the map, weapons, models and killed just 10 guys with the sniper rifle.

( soon or later, he will become one of us. the hero that no one needs, but the one everyone deserves ).

Proper matchmaking and gamemode selection can’t come soon enough. Darkflow needs to do better advertising of Enlisted to attract new players as well.

i’m afraid it’s a bit too late for that.

but as far as i can recall, they somewhat started in the open beta about the advertising campaign through lots of famous youtubers, Ads, cinematic videos, and others related things.

They could still ramp up their marketing for when Tunisia and other future campaigns release. But the devs also need to work on making Enlisted have a good first impression. I like hardcore shooters and know a number of people willing to give them a try, but they’re gonna have a fun time if they’re getting waffle stomped by stuff FAR into each Campaign. I can’t blame them for wanting to leave if they have to put up with frustrating gameplay just to get a few enjoyable weapons. Enlisted shouldn’t be too casualized or anything, just saying the devs need to work on the impression the game is gonna give off to new players.

which, as far as we know, 200 k people partecipated for the event.

and for a beta it’s not that bad.

but you forget that you ain’t making a good campaign when everything is nice and shiny for than people realized how unpolished the game can be.

we somewhat faced the results.

when i started playing it was because i was bombed by ads on the Normandy campaign i remember that they are in every site that dealt with video games (an unexpected thing if we think of enlisted as a project born from war thunder as a gaijin experiment) so if they had the funds then to do all that marketing campaign I think that with the release of the tunisia campaign they could do this again, this would surely attract new players (war thunder does it with every update).
about the impact or image of the game in the long run, after the initial emphasis it gets boring, all you do is grind, buy new weapons, soldiers, grind again just to get 150 kills per game, it’s not the best considering that alternatives valid at full price there are from the recent BFV to the old RO2 that guarantee that feeling that you are really doing something useful in battle and entice you to continue playing, in my opinion as well as other players if darkflow does not review how the war is reproduced in the game (for example the strategy map of heroes and general) enlisted will lose attractiveness then players and finally will close.
PS
wanting to be honest it would be enough to release tunisia now to split the already poor playerbase and kill the game now

You still see ads? There are people out there who don’t use uBlock Origin?

I doubt they will introduce any level based matchmaker, it wouldn’t be the correct move by the devs/publishers financially. Part of the reason people grind is to be able to compete with higher level players and to get an advantage over lower level players. Some people take a short cut, buy premium account or even squads to level up faster. If the game has level based matchmaking there is less incentive to level up so no need for premium.

I’m not going to advocate for actual SBMM, although the matchmaking system should prioritize pairing people up based on their skill or something similar. But to be fair, I admittedly don’t have an answer for this because I’ve never coded a matchmaking algorithm.

new player protection is good.
i has something like that for the first 2-3 matches / so only rifles& smgs vs rifles& smgs.

But now like every Day Tank II & III vs god damm T50.
T50 are like a Plague - they are now in like every Match and snacking our II & IIIs.
