So i just picked up the FG42 the second time now since i sucked the first time… and i must say…
But i havent tried the M2 out enough to say though…or the other smgs to see if both mr. Thompsen and M2 weight in for it so to speak

M1 Carabine is better than M2, but I prefer semi auto over auto.
Havent picked that one up yet strangely. But i love the Garand! Its the only game i love to shoot that gun in ^^ In most games the aim ring is so annoying since its all over your face

The M2 is more of a SMG and FG42 is more of a rifle. I definitely prefer the FG42 myself and stick with the Garand for the US
Apparently the M1 is quite hated by allied players but you can literally use it as a SMG easily. Cleaned out houses with single mag doing 6 kills with this one, its real comfy weapon, I would say its even better than FG-42. Same level as FG-42 II on effectiveness when used with “skill”.

The M2 is nice, but the sights are so crowded, which I think artificially lowers its potential to be a better weapon.
Hip fire clearing buildings though is nice.

FG42 is my guilty pleasure in Normandy right there. I mostly use the gun in semi auto with some fast clicking and since upgrading weapons become easier with bronze orders, I was able to get the opportunity to fully upgrade my FG42s which made full auto more comfortable even though I’m mostly using MP43s supported by FG42s and MG42s at this point.

The only reason to use an M2 if you ask me not wanting to use an assaulter slot in a squad and equip another specialist with it for house clearing, now if we are talking about a squad that has smgs i usually prefer the M1 cause of the sights being fine instead of dogshit.
He means an SMG in the same sense as the VG 1-5 in the Berlin campaign is an SMG.

Except G41 does 12 damage and M1 carbine does 8 or so
And G41 does 15-16 rounds a minute while an M1 does around 300 with an 15 round magazine
What? G41 is about 220. Please tell me how much play time you have as US by the way
Majority of the time I’ll take a M1 garand even with a slightly lower RoF for the ability to instantly down someone over having to double tap with a carbine plus not lose as much damage over distance
I mean it isnt lol the M1 carbine is only like 80 RoF faster. You can jump on right now and get off way more than 15 rounds in a minute
