For the Yak-9UT, I think the version with 2 B-20S 20mm cannons and an NS-23 23mm cannon would be better. That was the standard armament for production aircraft and it would be much better in air-to-air combat. Although maybe both versions could be added, or the NS-37 version too.

Issues with Yak-9’s is that they completely lack any kind of bomb or rocket ordiance. The 45mm would allow it to be used for anti tank roles or 45mm HE for anti infantry role. With 23mm you aint doing much and 37mm is badly lackluster at Rank V and remember you lack bombs and rockets.
Furthermore its selling point over the Yak-9T is the bigger cannon.

I would much prefer it as a dedicated fighter aircraft rather than trying to force it into a tankbuster role. At BRV cannons on aircraft as a whole are fairly ineffective against tanks like the Tiger 2. Much better to have the Yak-9UT as a fighter and have other planes for tankbusting.

45mm cannon with aim assist will wreck planes. the 45mm HE will be decent against infantry especially with how fast its rate of fire is.
you also get secondary 20mm cannon.

Aim assist? Brother nah, now you’re just pandering to console players, there’s no aim assist on PC. And having HE on the 45mm would make it even worse against tanks, only half your shots would do any damage to them at all. It would be much better to just go with the 23mm version and leave destroying tanks to attackers or other fighters. I would like to see both versions of it, but if we were only able to get one I’d much prefer the 23mm.

im on about that circle that shows up how much to lead and where to aim

Those lead indicators are hardly the most accurate, especially when aircraft are maneuvering. It would still be much better to have a 23mm and a second 20mm for air-to-air.

eh make it an option then
