XBox Series X "Please update game client" but no update available

Was playing game 20 minutes ago. At end of round, I was kicked out of the game with the message

“New version available. Please update game client.”

There is no update to the game to install.
I’m on version 0.5.2.29

Coming back into the game to cause it to check for updates does nothing.

Attempting to log in just presents the message again.
Did you guys shut the game down before you were ready?

The update just dropped on PC, you may have to wait for the update to be released on console.

When updates releases it always take some time before they’re available on consoles, you can try restarting

Are you saying that the console update is now available so that trying now should work?

Is there any reason why when an update is released we dont get the post until after? Wouldn’t it be better to have the post with the patchnotes come out first so that people can read while they download etc?

Update in progress. Had to force the console to check for updates rather than letting the game perform the update, but it’s underway.

…10 gigabytes??? What could you possibly be releasing that needs 10GB of storage?
