Would the Jagdtiger fit in Enlisted?

image

A few players want the Maus in the game, which even as a German main I think is ridiculous. However, it makes me wonder if the Jagdtiger has the possibility of fitting into the BR5 power balance. It has a 128mm cannon as the Maus, except the Jagdtiger does not have the luxury of a turret or any secondary cannons, making it a more “reasonable” option.

If balance is still a concern, then it should probably be restricted to APC rounds (which only has about 250mm of armor pen, a tiny bit more than the big cats with APCBC in their 88s) and little, if any, HE rounds. Tank destroyers should be a specialized vehicle in the meta.

The USA also lacks a dedicated tank destroyer at high BR, so a good counterpart to the Jagdtiger (and Ho-Ri) could be the T28, but that is a discussion for another post

What on earth would you need a jagdtiger for when kwk43 tanks like the King Tiger and Jagdpanther can already destroy every tank in the game and practically ignore all damage below a certain level of penetration?

The 128mm would be plagued with the same issue as the 122mm cannon-equipped tanks- A painfully long reload.

I don’t understand the need to add a tank destroyer that is overshadowed by its turreted counterpart yet again. Enlisted isn’t a vehicle game.

We need that thing on the TT, upvoted.

As Stein pointed out 128mm would have very slow reload like 122mm , both of those cannons use 2 part ammunition and unlike IS-2s which have very good reserve speed that can get you out of some sticky situation Jagdtiger would be a sitting duck I cant see it being realistically added to Enlisted unless there is a major balancing issue but I wouldn’t mind seeing in game the more the merrier as they say

that the point tho you trade mobility for firepower something i love in any game too bad enlisted tank are quite bland to me.

perhaps it will appear soon
But I think that the USSR and the USA should have an appropriate response to the appearance of such a machine.

Jagdpanther is a premium that hasn’t been on sale for over a year, the Jagdtiger would provide alternative options at BR5 instead of just unlocking the Tiger 2 and sitting on that forever.

I believe there should be choices to make when it comes to what vehicle you use. I bet some players would still continue to use the Tiger 2, and some players might choose the Jagdtiger. Now there isn’t just 1 objectively correct choice to pick when it comes to BR5 tanks

The Jagdtiger would probably lolpen tanks even harder than the Tiger 2, except you lose the luxury of a turret and you lose even more mobility, making it a lot more vulnerable to infantry/guerrilla attacks. I could see using it in Stalingrad maps being more of a liability considering how easy you might be able to be flanked. Not to mention the reload speed is awful.

Of course, I believe every faction at BR5 should make a choice between a conventional tank or a dedicated tank destroyer, just like how people at BR2 make a choice about rocking bolt action rifles or semi-automatic rifles. A meta with variety and options creates a more interesting game instead of people just defaulting to the one best tank.

The other factions should get a similar treatment too, I’m not trying to advocate giving Germany better guns and armor for funsies, I want the tank meta to be diverse and not just be pershing vs tiger

You say that as though the introduction of the Jagdtiger would increase the number of objectively correct choices for BR 5 tanks- It will not because the objectively correct choice remains the same. As stated, the 128mm cannon is both unnecessary overkill, and would be less useful for your team due to the inherently longer reload.

Name me a threat that can’t already be lolpenned by a kwk43. Not even the super pershing’s additional applique armor would do anything to protect against it, nor would the IS series’ armor save for the the front glacis anyone with half a brain would avoid given the existence of penetration markers.

The former has an objectively correct answer.
The latter is a matter of preference.
This is a false equivalence.

Why do you contradict yourself?

You’re better off suggesting ways to patch holes in other factions’ tech trees instead of adding another unnecessary and useless vehicle in a tech tree that is arguably the most developed out of every faction.

I don’t see any real arguments other than “it adds variety”

The tank meta will not change.

The ability of tanks to fight other tanks will always be a secondary consideration in an infantry game where the purpose of spawning a vehicle in the first place is to provide additional firepower for infantry to take or hold objectives better with.

The ability of a tank to destroy enemy tanks is merely a means to ensure they can dump high explosive with impunity, and not the primary purpose.

A tank that cannot inflict as much casualties as any tank with a reasonable rate of fire is as much a liability as planes that cannot inflict hit its targets. At that point, the player is far more useful playing on foot as infantry.

yes, even a flying saucer of the Ahnenerbe, you can get yourself. You will not kill the dead balance of the game again.

He is the (War) Game
Infantry, vehicles and artillery are all integral parts of this game.
That’s why he has a reason to show up.

Fun is part of the game
If suicide infantry can launch a straight suicide charge without thinking and then blame the enemy for their death
So why can’t tank enthusiasts drive the Super Coffin?

And sitting in the grey zone waiting for your minute long reload hoping nobody will notice you is fun, I suppose? Germany already has capable and fun tanks, we need content for other factions where it is missing, not to the the one with the most filled TT

So long as Soviets get SU152(?). Also not sure what Allies would do, to hat did they do in reality use CAS or Jackson TD maybe? No more paper tanks!

BS no more Doom turtles we don’t have anti tank weapons now putting more doom turtles will make it worse … T 28 is as ridiculous as the Maus … better A43 Black Prince then this ridiculous tank T28.

The Jagdtiger is also not needed we don’t need heavy tanks King Tiger being the strongest tank in game is fine we didn’t even needed the Super Pershing abomination if we add it probably we will see IS-3.

Everything can fit in the game from pistol to super heavy tank, the question is another how should be introduced inside the game and if is introduced how need to be balanced so to assure fair play

Then… I want it as I want the elephant and the 105mm semovente

Heavy tank cant be added anymore since other faction cant counter it, the current heavy tank are fine.

Maybe available to use in combat event only could work i guess idk

The elephant seems like a more balanced and fitting option for a BR5 TD, without worrying about crossing the threshold into the superheavy territory.

And yes christ on a fucking stick, we have needed more Italian SPGs since yesterday, I adore the 75mm at BR1, its unironically the best BR1 tank in the game.

Honestly just more British and Italian gear would be a really welcome surprise. Like we still dont have a TT Churchill somehow, cromwells, archer, etc, not to mention the entire line of Italian TDs would be amazing to add.

Oh, so you’re a connoisseur :mechanical_arm::wink:

We seriously need to stop power creeping BR5.
No BR4 tank will stand a chance against these tanks.

18s long reload… I hope you know this tank will be useless in infantry support.

Plus nothing will stop Darkflow from adding post WW2 equipment from this point on…
