it’s so annoying that when I’m in a building and an enemy just sprints up to me from behind and kills me with his knife without me hearing a single step from him…
Of course, the surrounding noises are loud, but if someone walks up to me on a wooden floor, I would like to have at least a little bit of sound from it
But it also happens so often that I am shot from 2 meters from behind and I have no sound whatsoever from the enemy
I’ve been bitching about this forever. Enlisted is in Open Beta, and oversights like this should’ve been stomped out in Alpha tests.
What? For me, these steps are very loud, but that’s good because the soldiers finally have such shoes.
Buy maybe better headseat
what headset do u use ?!
i think i have a pretty good one … i have an asus rog delta
I hear footsteps just fine as well (HyperX Cloud II Headset)
I hear foot steps just fine. Steelseries Arctis 5 2019 edition.
I hear footsteps just fine as well # HyperX Stinger
HyperX Cloud II
SteelSeries wireless and the footsteps are loud as hell. I can be inside and hear enemy’s coming far away. Make sure your sound settings are correct in windows.
Googled your headphones, try turning off the virtual surround 7.1 feature and set windows to headphones (stereo).
i will try that … thanks
I’m surprised people here are claiming to hear footsteps just fine, whereas myself and my friends don’t hear shit in CRSED or Enlisted. Even with Ambient volume at 0%, footstep sounds are incredibly inconsistent or nonexistent. No, none of us have fucked with our Windows audio settings either.
Right now I’m using a Sony WH-1000xm4 with a V-Moda BoomPro Microphone, previous headset was the Logitech G230. I also use a Logitech Z623 speaker system and can hear everything but footsteps in both games.
Just because some people are having better luck hearing footsteps doesn’t nullify this issue either. There’s still plenty of work that needs to be done to the sound occlusion for CRSED and Enlisted.
I’m sorry I just woke up and read your reply totally wrong
Could it be a soundcard issue? I will do some further testing with footsteps to see if I notice any scenarios where I can’t hear them. But seriously, the map on Normandy campaign where B point is a 3 story mansion. If I’m up in the attic I can hear people running on from outside.
No because I’ve been playing CRSED on a different computer before my current setup and still never heard footsteps are a reasonable volume, whereas everything else is fine. There might appear to be bias in this thread because people aren’t having this issue are stating that it’s fine for them. But on the subreddit and discord, other people are still experiencing this issue and have asked the devs to address it.
Mmm, don’t get me wrong. I’m not trying to invalidate someones issue. I’m honestly interested in the issue and are trying to figure out if its a technical issue or a matter of personal opinion to get it fixed either way. Played quiet a lot yesterday and really tried to find scenarios where I got killed because I could not hear someone I should.
Qestion with the issue so I can try to understand you issue better. Can’t you hear them at all or are they just not loud enough in your opinion?
I believe the directionality and volume are both horribly consistent.
Depends on the surface for me. Footsteps on concrete are pretty quiet but people sprinting in mud might as well be yelling what door they’re about to go through.
The worst part of the sound, imo, is that sounds coming from above or below still sound like they’re on your floor.
Yeah, I can hear footsteps on wooden and metal surface, but the rest does pretty much no sound.
Perhaps if sounds like footsteps on surfaces with grass or concrete could be louder, devs may even “teach” AI to react on footsteps which might prevent from killing entire squad with a knife on single player´s banzai charge. (They currently react on enemy fire sound)
But I´m not a developer, so I have no idea if it is even possible to implement like that.
