If it happens like this I would like it to be the squadron Jagdverband 44 A squadron that was created exclusively for the Me 262
COMPOSITION
The squadron brought together some of the best pilots in the Luftwaffe, many of them decorated with the Knight’s Cross (Ritterkreuz) and with hundreds of kills to their credit.Among the prominent names were
• Adolf Galland: Unit leader, with 104 confirmed victories
• Heinz Bär: One of the most prolific aces, with over 220 kills, including 16 with the Me 262 in JV 44
• Johannes Steinhoff: An exceptional leader with 176 victories, he was in charge of training pilots on the Me 262.
• Günther Lützow: Another ace with over 100 victories, who joined the group but died in combat shortly after.
• Rudolf Sinner: An ace with approximately 39 victories, Sinner participated in the operations of JV 44 until he was wounded in April 1945. His previous experience in night fighter units and daytime made him valuable to the squadron
• Georg-Peter Eder:Eder was an experienced pilot in shooting down heavy bombers, which made him ideal for JV 44’s missions against B-17 and B-24 formations. He scored several kills with the Me 262, taking advantage of
Ace Adolf Galland took command of JV 44
JV 44’s main mission was to take advantage of the technological superiority of the Me 262 to engage Allied bomber formations, delay their advance and, if possible, regain some air advantage on the Western Front
OPERATIONS
• JV 44 focused Attack formations of American heavy bombers (B-17, B-24, B-26) and their escorts (P-51 Mustang, P-47 Thunderbolt) in southern Germany
• Attacks on B-17 and B-24 bombers near Munich. Heinz Bär shot down at least four aircraft, including a B-24.
• JV 44, operating from Munich-Riem, intercepted a formation of American heavy bombers (B-17 Flying Fortress) escorted by P-51 Mustang fighters.
It would be great if it were like this with this Squadron as Tier IV for the Me 262 Jabo
