It has that used skin to underline your battle hardened experience in Enlisted to abuse it correctly.

I just think the old one looks really dirty and worn out. The wood is fine but I don’t like the metal
The thing is that I can’t abuse it too hard so I’d really like to get a new Kar98k 
Which is imo how a rifle that’s been in the batttlefield for who knows how long should look. Old and worn. Not shiny and brand new.

If you look closely most of the gun models are covered with scratches and are somewhat battleworn, but the old Kar98k and PPSh-41 look like they were lying in a puddle of mud for two years.

Not really.
The old models look battle worn.
The new ones look like they just arrived from the supply truck straight from the factory.
I much prefer the old ones. The new ones simply look out of place.

And I believe they break immersion
As well as making more guns look the same
Like, the dark wood on the kar didn’t hurt anone, why give it the same stuff used by every other german rifle?
I agree that having battle worn weapons is good but the old textures didn’t look very good and the new ones are cleaner
Why even respond if you look at this forum a few times a month?
But no, the old ones are much more detailed.
