No.
Flying at low altitude is not invincible. AA will have a very good shooting opportunity at medium and close range. Affected by ground obstacles in actual combat, the safe flight space of aircraft will be smaller.Of course, if you think that this distance can effectively drop bombs even if the bombers are destroyed, what’s the difference between this and suicide attacks? So the conclusion is, if you still want to get away with it after dropping the bomb, it’s better not to expect to fly at low altitude.Maybe it’s a good choice to fly low during the retreat after dropping bombs at high altitude, but it can’t make your plane invincible. Before you drop the bomb,AA can still play a role.
No.
Right, and you’ll need the right maps for low flying to ever put you under an AA gun’s cone of fire to begin with.
Now watch DF progressively raise the minimum elevation to contrast forward leaning (instead of restricting the maximum allowed slope angle to build) until a flat-built AA is actually unable to shoot at anything that isn’t straight above.
The angle limitation is a flawed concept by it self for one reason, the guns can be currently moved by tanks. You build one on the flat and than just nudge it with a tank down a bank, instant angle. This has been achievable for as long as I can remember. Never used it in game as it a bit of weak ass play style.
The digging of the hole during the build sequence to create the angle is a method I never tried until the update came out so I don’t know how long that method has worked.
It’s not invincible, nothing is really invincible in this game (save for, structures, for now at least).
Is it safer? From a certain point of view.
As an AA gunner, you have a smaller window of opportunity to send “gifts” at the incoming plane.
As a pilot, you may have extra difficulty lining in bombing/strafing the target areas (at least, if going from fairly high above before was go-to tactic); watching out for terrain irregularities/tree tops also becomes more of a concern.
But if you are a capable pilot (and your PC/whatever device you play on is powerful enough), this should be a minor inconvenience at worst, and bit fewer bombing opportunities (due to extra zigzagging and maneuvering), at least until AA is taken out…
