Will Anti tank teams build AT-Guns? Heavy & different AT Gun options-variety?

In multiple campaigns, either side has to often deal with uneven tank leveling, (Tigers, T34s etc) and esp at range Infantry often has a murderously hard time dealing with a tanks on overwatch position.

Can we have AT or engineering teams able to build different AT guns???

What about recoilles rifles that came at end of the war * 10.5 cm LG 40 & 42 etc etc
Flak 88??
D-44
Pak36 with Stielgranate 41
Artillery pieces in direct fire AT role???
30+ different AT guns in WW2, bit crappy there is no choice and or theyre unable for the job (Sov Pak40 7.5cm?? against Tiger were unable to flank due to map constraints for example)

So much variety but currently just generic 5cm/7.5cm guns are available.
Unrealistic or just lacking power in many cases.

Can only hope so.

I think they will get there. Hoping different types will be added based on tier and class.

Ie paradrop varients for para troopers

Sure thing, Panzer IV F2 should be removed from Moscow and instead a buildable Flak 88 added.

But now - with the new matchmaking in the way - it is no longer that important.

I dont mean that, I mean why is SOV infantry building Pak 5cm & Pak 7.5cm guns?

Where are heavier or rare AT guns? Recoilless guns?

Esp how limiting maps are; unable to flank shot tanks often, or completely outmatched (bring a Tiger to a battle from far away and just snipe Shermans and T-34s until GG.

Its a work in progress, like warthunder something will be undesputed god for a few months…then the anti god will be added later. (Mg nest, heavy mg nest)

After a few months/years, top dog becomes bottom dog/forgotten

I remember all the crying about the jumbo being undisputed king in normanday. I was like just wait…they will add panther and tiger soon enough…now whats the crying about :stuck_out_tongue: (i dare say pershings and super pershings will show up at some point)

Only in Berlín

At Moscow and stalingrad its 53K (soviet at gun)

And pak 40 sov it’s better for balance, zis 3 probably was more op ( i don’t care aniway, i want zis3 or bs 100mm)

I’m all for AT squads being able to build high caliber AT weapons(88/100/etc) just don’t give them HE so they don’t just get used as only anti-infantry HE slingers and further emphasize their greyzone tank countering purpose and we’re golden

Fair enough for at guns.

I gotta say though…i do love some artillery…would be cool to build some indirect artillery pieces. Build, then use like mortar

Very True. In reality,… the German 88 mm AA – high altitude Flak gun ; “” SAVED THE FRENCH CAMPAIGN," French tanks were much heavier and well armored – Plus many more than the AXIS. Only the 88"s were able to stop the French Tank counter in May-1940. The 88mm Flak continued to rule over the Battlefield even to 1945. The game has --DUMMY 88’s,— all over the place. Yet Players are -Stuck with the --PAINT SCRATCHER – Pak 37 or 38.

Not to mention Africa. 88s screening their tanks was primary tactic

Something like this

But I’ve made it before HMG’s have been introduced

Sure, can agree to that. we just need an infantry way of dealing with heavy tanks at range when ur team is stuck with light tanks.

Want to add this is also about helping differentiate different infantry units.
For example
early war 1 AT squad 3.7cm Pak36
early war 2 AT 5cm Pak 38
early war 3 AT 8.8cm Flak 18 (bulky unmovable)
premium early war AT 7.62 cm PaK 36(r)

Its about differentiating squads further so player base is inclined to grind but also provide reasonable shot at dealing with heavy tank at range ( depending on era and opponent)

I disagree. They should have HE and should be used for Anti-Personnel as well as Anti-tank. Even if they are in the greyzone, its not like they are as hard to kill as tanks. Aircraft, Tanks, AT soldiers, mortars, snipers and other AT field guns can still kill them.

I’m sure you aren’t familiar with the concept, but there ARE support roles to be played as well. A player to the side or near the rear using a field gun and AA can help their team by providing necessary heavy weapons support.

What I find amusing is how many people complain about Field gun usage from engineer squads which can be killed and dealt with, but aren’t concerned with artillery strikes that can be called in quite regularly, and cannot be countered. There’s not even a site to bomb to get it to stop.

Keep HE for Field guns, whether they are normal size or larger.

I don’t think Infantry should have the large stationary guns, but I would be ok if they got the larger towed AT guns like the M5, 17 pounder or the Pak 40s outside of Berlin. We don’t need the infantry to be able to create what is effectively an artillery position, mortars are already frustrating enough. Furthermore, stationary Anti-Tank guns like the 88mm won’t suit the pace of the game, as this game is incredibly fast paced. While the towed AT guns are relatively slow, they still have a place in the aggressive nature of this game, as you can move them and use them as mobile cover at the very least.

I hope the cannons will be deployed like normal units.

Mortars are frustrating? I was under the impression the general consensus is they are useless. Certainly rarely see anyone using them

I really like them myself. There is a specific time and place for them.

The general consensus is a bit of both, a lot of people find them not useful because they too slow, however plenty of people despise them because a lot of people simply farm easy kills with them. Either way, it creates frustration because it slows down the game.

That will be the best. AT team build heavy at guns like pak 43 or pak36. assult team engineer can build mg nest? motor team can build artilary. and engineer team can build all basic heavy weapon like pak 40 if at team get pak 43
