Why the panther A cant pen the jumbo frontally?

(disclaimer im not saying that the panther SHOULD pen the jumbo frontally is a example on what i think on the argoument)

i was playing wt today and in my line up i have the panther A, in game i killed a jumbo from the front plate (obviosly non angled) and i remembered that the panther have a 75 long with almost 200mm of penetration.

so why the fuck the panther cant pen the jumbo even from 5 centimeter away?, they are messing with pen value for balancing?, this is something that i really dont like together with the AP nerf and removing a type of shell from a tank.

if there is something im missing please explain it to me, maybe im only dumb.

Even in WT you can bounce off of the Jumbo’s front plate (even the upper, slightly weaker half where you should in theory pen more often than not). It’s weird and I never really understood why that plate can be both an easy kill and the reason you die instead. So yeah, this is a really great question I really doubt we’ll ever get a satisfying answer for.

Theirs delicious MG ports on Jumbo.

Probably for the same reason that pumas doesn’t get instantly deleted by the 75mm m3’s HE shell

It’s funny thinking that the jumbo is treated the same as the puma vs the 75mm HE.

I mean it absolutely wouldn’t be balance for the panther to be able to lolpen everything, but that’s my take on it

Yeah but I’m conflicted to one part balance need this changes, but on the other hand they’re changing value that should not be changed in any circumstances .

back in time they were effected by HE but probably they nerfed HE pen power or its just broken.

Conclusion: damage model is broken and always have been

I know that but I’m more under the impression it was down for balance, but that might be me just trying to deny that they broke it

miss the time you can pop Pumas ammo rack with HE and have a little chuckle.

You dissapoint me @38883009

ah k

If stats would be much closer to reality. Most of the early tanks would be shredded by AT rifles frontally. A mid campaign tank, would just one-shot all the starter tanks from one spawn to another. The bombs would still work as they did at the start - a 500kg bomb just deletes everything in few hundred meter radius.

The reason why things are not like that is because it’s bad for gameplay. This is not WT and it’s more interest to have a bit of brawl even with basic tanks. The WT is like because of BR and respective “balance” that it sets. But if you play sim mode, it’s very different in respect to available tanks on the field and what is pitched against each other.
