this is horrible almost every match i played there was godforsaken tank killing my soldier right when i spawn
Tanks are more effective at long distance and when in grey-zone they are also safe from enemy infantry.
My only guess is, you are spawning on a truck?, i have noticed, that people like to farm them.
or you spawned on a truck, and its now parked between the area you where defending, and lost it, and the enemy have moved up to where the rally/spawn was.
i really can not see how, there in your main spawn point, surrounding it maybe.
On some maps, dozens of allies have been killed by 88mm cannon fire into the default spawn point right after the game starts. I think there is a problem with the map design.

Yeah,I don’t know if the OP is referring to that or not, but there are some maps in invasion mode where you can fire tank guns at the default spawn point of the opposing team right at the start of the game.
I don’t remember which map it was, but my experience was when I was playing as Germany on the Berlin station map. After spawning with a tank, there was a Soviet CP a few dozen meters away and all the players had just spawned there. I fired my artillery and instantly got 20 KILLS in.
Another experience was when I was playing as a US soldier at an airfield in Normandy, the game started and the moment I chose my squad and spawned, an 88mm cannon hit me and my allies and wiped me out.
I have had the same experience on several other maps, but I don’t remember which one.
So, I really think there is a problem with the map design.
The default spawn point should be a place where you are protected from freshly spawned enemies.
In D-Day you could send a HE-shell directly into the german bunker at the very start of the game for guaranteed 20+ kill in one shot. That was the only good thing with that map though.
Devs keep nerfing tank survivability and tank repairs making close quarter engagements with infantry more deadly so why should they subject themself to that.
Tank repairs are so terrible now that it simply isnt worth it to do if more than 2 modules are damaged.
1 toolkit can only repair two diffrent modules fully as you need to repair them 4 times until it is fully repaired now (every crew member can only carry a single toolkit for 8 repairs unless you already have unlocked the backpack…).
As infantry can wreck alot of modules quickly it is preferable to just camp in the greyzone outside of the reach of enemy infantry.
This means damage to the tank
In the old system you could never repair modules fully, so if you’re in a hurry stop wasting your time and just get them into working order. Tank repairs were stupidly easy before, I like that it takes a little strategy and effort to accomplish successfully now.
Also there were always tanks firing from the grey zone so the new repair system isn’t to blame, and there was always tnt grenades so vulnerability to infantry isn’t a new thing either. It’s always been flawed map design that causes the problem. If you want the grey zone camping to stop tell the devs to fix the maps where it’s a problem.
Now you can use your smoke shells to create cover so you can repair also this system I slightly prefer since damging maduale are more important than before

I am sick to death of “pilots” continuously blocking plane slots, spamming “NEED ENEMY COORDINATES” then just doing nothing for the whole damn match
Like, that new Ardennes map is a great example. On 2nd cap zone half the german tanks just drive out right in the open on the top of the hill and farm allies, being PAINFULLY obvious, yet allied air is just putting 10 HVARS and a bomb into a barn wall, killing nothing
You can say it’s bad map design, getting farmed by Tigors…yet you can literally make them stop even spawning tanks on that map if you just use your brain and eyes
It is sad that tanks and aircraft are important tools to help the infantry, yet those who prefer them do little to help the infantry.
Yes you are correct that this isnt new but it sure did not help encourage tankers leave the greyzone as now they get punished even harder for it.
That is why I just hate that repair overhaul… It doesnt really affect those who are camping as they are already in a save position to repair but punishes those that did make an effort to push as they will just get killed and overrun the moment they start to repair.
Only a select few tanks have access to any kind of smoke round or launcher so no this isnt really a solution.
A single smoke round might only protect your tank from a narrowish angle. This means 1 smoke might fully protect a greyzone camper but doesnt do anything if you are actually pushing and the enemy might come from basicly anywhere due to flanking enemies sniping your crew from the side.
So repairs arent an issue if you camp but are very much a pain if you dont… that is why I preferred the old sytem.
