Is it a bug? It has 75 mm armor and always gets oneshot from the 85mm cannon of the T-34, but that is not all. The T34 never gets oneshot by the pz4 and only has 45 mm armor againts 75 mm canon, which doesnt make any sense. If there is a tank that should get oneshoted more often is the T-34 but in reality you can shot it 1, 2,3,4 or5 times, it never gets destroyed by the pz4. MEanwhile the pz always get oneshoted.

The Pz. IV is a worse tank than the T-34-85. The T-34-85 also has sloped armour, which increases the effectiveness of the 45 mm of armour. It is also a bit simplistic to just use the armour thickness and gun calibre to calculate penetration capabilities. There are some other factors to consider, like the kind of ammunition used and the velocity of the gun, and so on.
Because it’s a shitty box and the 85mm has a shitload of filler
Also the game is using a really old version of WT tanks that hasn’t actually had a proper balancing pass which is why the Panther mantlet and T-34 bounce shit way more often than they should

I dont care if the T-34 was a better tank or whatever, the point is that the balance is terrible. The first 2 tanks on both sides should be balanced in some way, one cant oneshot the other while the other is completly useless, slow af, even the canon and turret rotates slower, I mean, what is this joke? what kind of balance is this. the pz4 J shouln´t be in the game if its gona be completly outclassed by the same tier tank, IT doesnt even has speed like a light tank, is just a meatshield. And people keep using it, wasting time and resources from the team. to get oneshoted…

If the armour models worked properly the PzIV would be able to one shot the T-34 just as well, but it is an old version of WT tanks modeling which wasn’t nearly as good as it was in say 2019 or 2020

Just use panzerfausts, much better at dealing with tanks then using actual tanks until you get the panther

I’ve had good experiences with the IVJ lately, though mostly because where I like to aim tends to kill the gunner first.
It’s usable but the T-34 is definitely substantially better.
i agree the first tanks need a major rebalance. its annoying when you manage to actually sneak up on a t34-85 and put a round into side of its turret. then 3 more rounds into turret as he turns just turret at you then 1 shots you. and it doesnt help most maps the t34-85 can sit back out of playable area for the germans and shoot anything near the cap point and past it.

This. Yes the 85mm has alot of filler but if not an excuse for the 75mm german gun to basically never one shot it. I’ve lost count of the number of times I’ve penetrated with the 75mm and only killed 2 crew. Then have it basically go invulnerable.
The maps are just plan stupid as well. They give a massive edge to the t-34 at almost all steps both attacking and defense. Almost every engagement is directly head to head favoring the t-34 even more. They should either remove armor from the campaign or remove armor from the campaign until they do a replacement of the tank lineup. Its shocking to believe this was some how “beta tested”.
Also the t-34 has a massive visual glitch so that the turret can be facing one direction and really be facing another direction. I’ve tried to ambush a few of them at 45 degrees angle when they are looking the other way. Only to pull out from my spot and be one shot because they were really looking at me. This just adds insult to injury as you take the time to wait in ambush for the prefect shot and timing only to screw yourself.

It’s a clumsy flat armored can that take 85mm shells with a lot of HE what do you expect it to do? Not go up in flames?
Except shooting first often leads to you only killing a single crewmember of the T-34, if at all. The Pz 4’s APCBC barely deals damage, and everything in the T-34 absorbs damage.
