Seriously, they got rolled so hard it was offensive. This is why people desert matches. Not a single enemy player hit double digit kills. I highly doubt they had fun! Hell, I didn’t have fun.
But if they would have stayed, they could have obviously won the match, duh!
i know the solution: just punish people for deserting matches. there is no need to fix the game.
Punishment for desertion is fixing the system, not the game.
I don’t know why bypassing the system should be allowed, especially since it’s beneficial.
Who would have benefit from these sons of bitches staying in the match? The enemy for sure, but the team would have still lost hard. I dont even know how many of them were actual players.
punishment for broken game is stupid.
you can easily end up in 3v10 situation. why should you be punished by leaving this kind of match?
you can end up vs team full of veterans with team full of newbies and get stomped to the ground. why should you be punished by leaving such match?
you can end up in totally unfair modes like assault where attackers need to be twice as skilled as defenders to actually win. why should you be punished for not wanting to play such shit mode?
when you know that veterans are stacking one faction, what is exactly incentive to play underdog faction when you know that in majority of matches you will be stomped to the ground?
every effect has its cause and by trying to fix the effect without addressing cause, it will just make game worse. you will either get people either stacking winning factions even more or quitting game altogether .
robihr I think you just nailed it in a nutshell . Why should we be punished for the game’s misfortunes? I used to be a die hard and stay till the bitter end but not any more. So I believe the merge was going to sort this problem out but it hasn’t From what I read in the last update notice… they are going to sort us deserters out, punish us for deserting! Ok off ya go then DF, we don’t care, prevention is better than a cure
In this particular case both sides of the argument are valid. In many ways I would love to see the developers implement a system to deter players from deserting during a match but to the other point; I can’t figure out why people seem to struggle with understanding the mechanics of this game and only enjoy it on a point and shoot level. It frustrates me to no end on peoples apparent inability to learn basic things like marking targets and then I quickly remind myself that its obvious the individuals I’m referring to don’t really care one way or the other. Enlisted, played in the mechanical capacity in which it was designed just so happens to be one of the greatest FPS of all time. To top it off the engine used to develop the game is software that they also independently coded (in-house) : The publisher has used the Engine to publish other titles such as War Thunder. I also think we as the community of players have some responsible in trying to help and coach new comers in proper gaming etiquette; even though at times we feel like its a burden to do so. At the end of the day we still exist in the same meta community and if we want to solve the problem objectively I think a much different approach would be more effective and have a longer lasting impact on the community overall.
You’ll never know if your teammates are monkeys, bugs, or humans until 5 minutes into the game.
If they keep crashing planes into ground. I know they are monkeys for sure.
Found another reason to desert:
Since it is a FREE video game and to be honest, no one other then the people paying for premium content really have any skin in the game then it is pointless to punish deserters. I keep saying this, give people an incentive to stay. Unless your on the Plus side of the ass kicking, there is really zero reason for someone to stick around through the flogging without an incentive. NONE.
What is the reason to stay if your getting pounded, knowing there will be no reward for being someone’s cannon fodder? You’re not increasing your rank, you’tr not getting much in experience points plus their is not enough silver to do anything with…See my point?
Stop with the ranking system. What does it do for the game anyway other then maybe prestige and more silver coins after games, plus people playing for rank will not waste time sitting through the flogging and quit for the next game. Give the same amount of silver to both sides based on how they finished “ON THEIR TEAM”. I thought the idea of a video game was to have fun, and having your ass kicked for nothing is not really a lot of fun.
A match I just did:
(Note: we steamrolled so hard due to unbalanced teams, building rallies WOULD HAVE SLOWED US DOWN. I still brought apcs.)
with punishments, it will merely accentuate imbalance even further.
simple choice:
1- you stay in the popular faction, certain to win, low effort, relaxing, and even GET WIN BONUS FOR IT.
2- you try the unpopular factions, you endure being a punching bag for NO BENEFITS whatsoever, and get punished if you leave because it’s unfun, because selfish ppl hate you and want you to pay even more.
3- there’s no 3rd scenario anymore. pick 1 or 2.
BUT! for the love of the snail, don’t you dare fix it! punish the playerbase instead!
I still don’t understand why the enemy would rather be slaughtered than intercept these targets.
Even players who try to intercept may not see one in a day
I guess they like to keep getting killed or tearing apart defenses and then being breached
The same logic can be applied to victims of camping
Because intercepting the Rocket Man Show is pointless.
Rocket Man can’t use planes and, therefore, can only crash into the enemy because that is all that he is capable of. In other words, Rocket Man wants to die, does not care about survival, and therefore, there are only two ways to stop Rocket Man from FLAGing the team. By killing the pilot or destroying the plane so much that it wrecks. But AA is not accurate enough and has worse combat range than FLAGGOT pilot (especially if he goes full Rocket Man and has rockets and cannons), and even as a plane, you need to be in the right time at the same spot to get the FLAGGOT so… I do not know why people need literal luck to intercept the Rocket Man Show (and lets not discuss how likely it is to wreck the plane in one attack or get the pilot).
- most people are f2p so they only have 1 vehicle slot which is most often tank
- even if player is not f2p, he may not have fighter equipped (e.g. i usually go with KT and ju188)
- to successfully intercept a plane requires air spawn camping (another shit tactic), so it requires knowledge about ~150 enemy air spawns ingame
- even if you air spawn camp, you may not be in position to intercept enemy plane (cause you dont know when he will spawn in) and he will spawn in with very high speed making it hard to catch up to him
- he is more than likely able to drop payload before you can kill him making that interception pointless
- you need to resupply ammo (so you cant spawn camp indefinitely) and enemy fighter can still spawn on your back while you are chasing suicide bomber
- some spawns are guarded by carriers and aimbot AA
so to successfully intercept enemy suicide bomber player needs to be extremely skilled with excellent knowledge of every map and actually have fighter equipped and he is still more than likely not able to prevent suicide spammer from dropping his payload, while suicide spammer only needs power of his wallet and can have absolutely no skill to spam planes and rocket at the enemy.
Hey thats me
The Incentive is to practice good values and not be a sore loser by getting mad and disconnecting from the game like a five year old. Of course nobody likes to lose during a competition but in order to improve your skills you must constantly be faced with more difficult opponents and challenges which include being beaten. Quitting because your losing is indicative poor character. I’m not saying this in an confrontational way so please don’t take it that way. This should be considered by all who read it a lesson in good sportsmanship and love for the enlisted community.
That’s fine and in a perfect world would be ok, but we are far from a perfect world and few people seem to covet values these days. In the world we live in today punishing people will not work. Trust me. And sore losers? I highly doubt that their is hardly a handful of people playing that has not deserted a game out of frustration. The vast majority of my desertions were caused by either power or internet outages since I live in the Philippines, however I will admit I have quit a couple times being frustrated before I broke my computer monitor.
If we want to fix the system from people leaving early, then people need to have an incentive to stay. Period. That is the reality, whether it is right or wrong. People need to remember that this is a “VIDEO GAME”, it’s not like people are playing to win thousands of dollars, and It does not cost anyone anything to incentivize people to stay, and will only piss people off if people are forced stay. Just sayin
