Don’t flame me, I’m no history buff, but love my spitfire and hurricanes, Battle of Britain is one of the most iconic battles, but there were other fights before people say play WT, I like Enlisted not WT, I don’t like third person either…
Hurricanes got phased out in Europe around 1942/43 making them illegible for Normandy, and the Spitfires available at the time do not have a payload large enough to justify adding it, with the Mk Vs not having any bombs and the Mk IXs only having a single 250 bomb, putting it’s payload on par with the P-51C which at this point would be a strict downgrade if added to the campaign. The Typhoon is a bit more likely, but still pretty unlikely. Both are more likely to be added as premiums if they are even added at all.
When / if they add bomber raids like Stalingrad, they should introduce the spitfires imho, but you are right people may not want a downgrade…
In Tunisia I love both spitfires, the last one with cannons, surely that was a late model (can’t check in game now)
Also in Normandy devs main USA
I think this is the key point - even though for some bizzare reason the devs seeded British weapons into the US Infantry squads - this is a major historical accuracy screw up devs, esp given that Tunisia was already being prepped for the British - the Normandy scenario is specifically set up for the US sector of the invasion. One would think that they will add in the British/Canadian sectors accordingly, and eventually adjust the equipment load outs to be more historically consistent.
I went to Duxford Airshow, they had 16 spits in formation as the finale big wing… I know spits flew in Normandy, just reviving this post…
