Why no p38 or high power pistol in Berlin or Tunisia?

Is there a reason for it or just an oversight?

I’m not sure what you mean by high power pistol.

In berlin the axis gets the PP, PPK, Luger, and C96. The Luger is basically equivalent to the P38 and the Mauser has what was the fastest pistol cartridge until .357 magnum.

Tunisia Loses the Mauser and adds two berrettas, because italy.

If you mean the Browning Hi-Power, it would make most sense in Moscow and Tunisia, maybe also Normandy, for both sides, but by the time we get to Berlin the factory in belgium was overrun by the allies and production would have stopped. Besides, if they’re trying to keep pistols relatively balanced, the Hi-Power is at an advantage as the only double-stack service pistol of the war, its ammo capacity would make it the first choice best pistol anywhere they put it.

Beretta is better

Given that the game is based on asymmetric balance, and the fact that we have a whole host of experimental and prototypical weapons not used en masse on the fronts, such an argument no longer makes real sense, because if Hi-power were to emerge in these circumstances, I am almost certain that game developers would hardly follow it’s realistic specifications anyway.

Their track record for pistol ammo capacity realism is pretty solid, I think you’ll find.

It’s a 9mm pistol, so we can expect it to do the same damage as the others at 5.5
The Luger and P38, the only other 9mm Parabellum pistols in game, carry 8 rounds. The only gun that has more right now is the C96 at ten, but it hits for 5.3. The Hi-Power carries 13, which is more than a 50% increase over its closest competitors. It wouldn’t be OP or game breaking, but it would be the best pistol in the game as soon as it was introduced.

I’m not saying they can’t add it, or that they shouldn’t, but pistol gameplay is already sparse since they’re random drops. I’m all for adding cool guns that were actually used, but I think there might be things that take priority over adding another one.

there are twitch HI-Powers in Normandy (I have them, nothing too OP but best pistols with bad sights)

The Luger is basically equivalent to the P38

yeah but i like the sights better, and would be nice with 0 req dev time

by the time we get to Berlin the factory in belgium was overrun by the allies and production would have stopped.

And?They have Lebel/mosin squads etc…,just because they dont have the factory doesnt mean the soldiers mail their guns back to the allies because they have the factory now

Also more soviet pistols would be also nice

I didn’t know that. Wish I’d gotten one, oh well.

Fair enough, I suppose.

Also fair. I wouldn’t say it shouldn’t be in berlin, but if it’s not gonna be somewhere, I’d still say that one makes the most sense.

Do you mean more in the game, or more for Axis? I’m down for more in the game, and I’d like them to make the Nagant revolver DA since most of them were, but I’m not sure how I feel about giving the Axis more soviet equipment. It would make sense historically, I guess.

More Soviet pistols for Soviets.
I dont like the “captured guns” concept.
For Germans on Berlin the volkspistoles, reichs revolver and other occupied czeh/belgian/french …etc pistols and civilian pistols would also be nice

I mean, we already basically have all of them that were used in large numbers. Dunno what else they could add there, but I’m open to suggestions?

There was a HUGE variety of pistols in german service, and I’d be excited for the addition of most of them, but the Reichsrevolver would be a meme, at best. It’s a german revolver doing the worst impression possible of a Colt SAA and missing some important features, like an ejector. Imagine using it in Berlin, and having to locate a stick to get casings out XD

yeah like the berdan II

Fair enough, it’s a good meme. I use it all the time XD

The soviets in Moscow also got twitch drop Hi-powers. I only managed to get one.

In my opinion, the pistol-gameplay, in general, is practically non-existent, and absolutely ineffective, and at the moment does not play any key role in the game. This is more of a last resort feature for snipers or engineers than a real threat. So whether the gun will have a larger clip size will not fundamentally change the situation I think pistols should be fundamentally recycled in general, and updated to be something more that a meme option.

I dunno, I’ve used pistols to great effect with my snipers. It gives them a two-or-three shot kill option for CQC on Defense or Offense, which makes them more viable as more than a marksman. I think the Hi-Power changes that dynamic a lot, since it’s gonna reload faster than the hard-hitting american and british revolvers and the c-96, and carries two additional potential kills in the magazine.

Again, I don’t think it would be OP, but it would change things.

Even in real warfare, pistols are meant to be secondary weapons, used when ammo is low or you don’t have time to reload, or the enemy is too close for your primary weapon system. They were used widely enough in WW2 that rather than changing them or removing them, I’d like to see them available for bronze orders. Pistols for everyone!

No,they got tk1926 pistols ,and germs got engraved ppks i have them

I went through every Twitch Drops announcement in the news section of the website, and I can’t find a single thing saying they ever had hi-power drops for moscow. You plainly have one in moscow, but I have no idea how it got there unless you transferred it?

I did not transfer it, I just got in the game and activated the twitch orders.
I think it was from the drops on 16.4-19.4 as I remember trying to get the soviet gunner for Moscow.
