All automatic rifles in this game have a bayonet, expect german. Why don’t the developers add it at least for FG-42, which is the worst version of FG-42-II?

because is handicaped and this isnt the only aspect, we can also look to its dispersion and damage against the soviets (since sovs are able to use vitalty an the armor making them eat 2 FG shoots)
btw the high rof of this gun with a small mag i more a disaventage rather than one since this gun dont have tactic reload and with such a big rof you will be 90% of the time reloading this thing (not even the mg42 100 ets to many bullets in such a short time) also by having big rof the recoil becomes worse
and if there is a russian nerd here that still beliving that FG42>>>AVS/AVT im gonna remind you that the only why the FG42 is used on competitive scene is because it can one shoot americans/japanese but keep on mind that if is used is cuz preferences cuz FG42 is a worse version of the T20 and THA
and the only why avs is not used is because its mag which is shit against the T20 and THA one also T20 make the soviet armor useless on everysingle way ( another reason why URRS is not used on tournaments) but im pretty sure that if DF decides to give avt/avs a 20 bullet mag that gun will intantly become the T20 russian version
I cry every time I see a FG42 picture online, because that beauty has its bipod folded up, if only Enlisted would have this aswell… I would fall in love with that nasty looking steampunk rifle from Luftwaffen heaven.
It would also be great to have the Bi-pods on all weapons that have them interactable. Being able to fold the Bipod and being able to unfold the bipod when in a prone position.
Becayse mosf soldiers trew it away pretty much the moment the got the weapon. Its a very usseles smal bayonet that was only included because the desiners were forced to. Its was really effective as a bayonet since it was really smal.
Adding a bayonet to the StG makes some sence since as far as I know it had a compotent bayonet. The FG does not.
Thats why it makes little sence to add it to the FG series.
I think it doesn’t have a bayonet because of “asymmetrical balance” from pre-merge.
FG42 was going up against the AVT40 and the M2 Carbine.
The FG42 has 5 more ammo then the AVT40 but then AVT40 has a bayonet.
The M2 Carbine has more ammo then the FG42 and also has a bayonet, but it does less damage and is less accurate.
So they are not 1:1 identically balanced, some are better in some ways then the others and their play style is a little different.
When they added the Auto-Hei it was too much better then the M2 Carbine, so they added the T20 with bayonet for the Americans, making it better overall then the FG42. But then again the Germans also have ample time to give 4 of their riflemen the G43Kurtz which is still quite good for a rifle you can give to engineers or regular riflemen with a large ammo pack.
It would be nice to have a keybind that fixes the bayonet, if its not permanently equipped. Maybe aiming speed is increased if you take the bayonet off.
Back when the PPsH-41 drum mag was unlocked at the same level you unlocked the Beretta M38 with a 20rd magazine.
Or when the devs thought the AVS automatic rifle was matched by semi-automatic ZH-29s.
Don’t try to rationalize the dev’s balancing mistakes.
Not when the likely reason why the FG doesn’t have a bayonet in the first place comes from either negligence and/or ignorance.
And especially when they haven’t even made any explicit statements declaring that things were the way they were due to deliberate asymmetrical balancing.
Because having a bayonet reduces recoil by 3%, so they only gave it to weapons they wanted to give a little hidden boost to. At the time it was added the FG didn’t need it. Germany as a whole still doesn’t need it, but it is the worst automatic rifle now so it should have it.
But he’s right. The bayonet on FG was more or less just for decoration. Specifically so the Germans could check off one of the requirements for the weapon as it was commissioned.
Gun Jesus talked about it in one of his videos.
But since Enlisted is such an alt. universe. Where prototypes etc are flawlessly functional, giving that gun a functional bayonet ingame is a reasonable request.
