Why is there Assaulter II but no Assaulter I?

Machine Gunners, also unlocked in BR II, have just a Machine Gunner I. Assaulters, however, start at Assaulter II. Why is that the case? Were there some Assaulter I classes from campaigns that they decided to remove, or do they consider a Medic an Assaulter I? Either way, I feel the BR II unlock Assaulters should just be Assaulter I, as it lines up with other BR II unlocks.

Plus, it would be cheaper to add more to my squad (1,500 silver vs 600 silver).

Yes.

To unclog the TT, they replaced those ancient squads with the medic squad. (Cannot buy new assaulters 1 either)

Some players still have old assaulters 1, but at this point those same players can probably all replace them all by assaulters 4…

Hypothesis: it was an attempt to limit in some way the proliferation of automatics in br1. New players only get medics. Once they get assaulters 2, they no longer play in br1.

Just very naive and overall incompetent decision made by devs.

Locking out newbies of assaulters squads, yet literally nothing prevents veteran seal clubbers to take theirs to BR1.

Literally just artificial widening the gap between seal clubbers and newbies, effectively supporting seal clubbing.

But it’s not like assaulters is the only class with inconsistent tiers.

I think there’s currently only APC driver II. (Most likely to just make the soldier more expensive. Which is still extremely bizarre since you won’t be purchasing APC drivers in masses anyway. It’s basically one time purchase - or if you are minmaxer one time rolling for perfect soldier).

Kind of flawed, since a Medic squad can use 5 SMGs, yet an Assaulter squad can only have a max of 4 SMGs. Yes you can add in an MG, or an Engineer, or an AT soldier (but minus the MG), it’s basically the same for any other BR I infantry squad. I just wish they bring back the campaign stuff they removed for no reason.

I don’t know why a lot of people assume Soldier X is locked to X tier. A Rifleman III or any other III class can be used in BR I. Don’t know why you would, but it’s doable. Let’s not start on the bringing MG squads and Engineer squads down to low tier to spam MG nests. . . . .

That’s true…

My hypothesis for those is that since there’s really just one squad… and quite literally only one seat they can go in, devs decided the soldier would be more worthwhile to bring across br with a +6 points instead of the +3 from tier 1 classes…

I’d like devs to expand a bit for those. More vehicles in TT maybe?

This is essentially correct. I have very good level one squads, yet rarely play level one anymore. However, I would hate to be a newbie trying to play level one against vets who are stacked with Medic and assaulter squads…Like me. :yum: However, when I play level one, it is usually Allies and I still get seal clubbed.

I now have nine full slots, so I don’t have enough level one assaulter squads to fill it out and have a mortar squad using Smith and Wesson Lite Rifles and a sniper squad to go along with a tank and plane. But this is probably not fair for a newbie to have to face. These are older screen shots, so all my level one engineers currently use Winchester 1866’s and my AGAS Party squad is using Sten’s as their backup weapons.
