I think FG-42 and STG-44 should be repositioned. I don’t understand why the STG-44, the standard weapon of the German army, is used by assault troops and why the FG-42, which was produced in small quantities for the paratroopers, is used as the main weapon.
I’m not complaining about the performance of the FG-42. It’s not like asking for a buff. You just need to change the numbers and change the positions.
Rather, it would be reasonable if the assault troops were armed with the few remaining FG-42s, but it would be strange to carry the few remaining FG-42s, including the riflemen and sappers and signalmen who make up the majority of the soldiers.
This proof is very easy and simple to fit. This can be done with a simple location change. Of course, we know that it is difficult to achieve perfect historical evidence. However, both the STG-44 and FG-42 exist in the game. So there is no reason to put off simple problems that can be solved by simply changing their location.
It feels like carrying an M16 in a World War II game.

I agree, I’ve seen more FG42s and STG-44s than Kars and MP40. There should be some kind of limit for these types of weapons.

There’s already M16 carbine in enlisted, deal with it.
m16
But it’s quite hilarious you’ve got problems only with German weapons, not with federovs, copygarands, SIGs and so on…
It kinda seems you would like to just nerf Germans, very sus.
Definitely not biased suggestion.

There should be a limit for every nation, not only for FG and STG

Of course! I never claimed it should be applied to only FGs and STGs. Imo, Fedorovs and M2 Carbines should also be limited as well.

It’s a problem because the FG42 is considered a standard issue rifle that can be equipped on almost any soldier, when in reality it was a hybrid of a machine gun and an automatic rifle developed for paratroopers and used in very small quantities.
It’s a problem with other weapons in game too like the M2 Carbine. Therefore, these weapons should be reclassified or restricted to certain troop types. It’s nonsensical to leave them as they are, I personally I think it seriously harms the feel of this game.
StG is fine though, since it can only be placed on assaulters.

just play low BR after the merge
I have some troops with FG42 ,but prefer Gewehr 43 so thats my mainstay weapon. The sniper FG42 though is a really good weapon.
The M2 is ok but only as hip, cant see at shoulder height with the smoke .
The FG42 is underpowered compared to something like a MG42 or MG34 with pet. mag, Same with SMGs such as the Beretta M38.
Well they aren’t comparable. MG34/42 are high firerate beltfed MGs, the FG42 is an automatic rifle.
The FG42 is technically a LMG/ Battle Rifle hybrid, but i do not believe that the FG42 should be given to Machine Gunners
But you are right, each weapon has their ups and downs, like the fg42 being somewhat more controllable
That’s fair, and yeah while I want it to be reclassified, don’t know if machine gun is the best option. Another thing that could be done is simply limiting the amount of auto rifles per squad, for example a 9-man rifle squad can’t bring more than 2 or 3 auto rifles.
Then again you could just go even to BR 4 as there are gonna be no auto rifles there as far as i can tell
Fair point as well. Although I would rather not just have complete full auto chaos even in higher lobbies. But that’s probably just wishful thinking
I agree FG42 for troopers is a nonsense.
But devs for some unknown reason think it’s ok and after 2 years nothing has changed. We don’t use logic here.
