have devs not thought about balance at all ? already half the axis team in Tunisia is filled with bots, people dont play as Axis because there is no variety, those who play are spread across several campaigns.
So why did already Superior Allied army get a machine gun squad ? with half the axis team being bots, 30 % running with rifles, 10 % dont leave their tanks/ planes, and only 10 % are using assault/machine gun squads.
Second topic : why did you waste time adding the stupid dig feature ? what , War Thunder god some kind of terrain manipulation and you guys thought sure, why not put it here as well ?
most of the terrain cant be dug, you cant place anything in such terrain, when lying down you cant aim normally , and ofc i haven`t seen a single hole specially made for a tank, and a tank using it.
Maybe stop wasting manpower on stuff that looks/sounds cool and focus more on balancing the game.
P.S. - do something about Grant, this tank has almost no counterplay, either they play stupid and come close to enemy infantry ( althought even then sometimes they need several dynamite charges), or it gets bombed by stuka, idk about the italian AT tank, everytime i saw one, they get destroyed after first shot
because it’s something unique, and trust me axis equipment isn’t bad, save for the mp28, hell it’s actually on par with allied equipment with both excelling in different things. so yes axis is only suffering because they don’t have a somewhat skilled playerbase those are too busy in normandy and berlin
The italian tank destroyer can handle grants fine, and wrecks the other allied vehicles easily. Shooting an A13 front center of mass with that thing usually instant kills them. The transmission also often eats penetrating shots from the front, which makes it more durable than it would seem. Main issue is that with no machine gun or turret its remarkably vulnerable to infantry that get close, so you need to be careful with it to keep it alive.
The mg squad thing I’m less concerned about it giving allies an advantage, since it really isn’t that big of one except for low level players, but that in both events giving stuff out to tunisia players, the axis just didn’t get anything exciting. Like, I’m not angry that they got something, I’m just sad that I didn’t, twice in a row.
I’ve not seen this “Axis players are just bots” thing in practice. I play axis all the time, and yeah a lot of the players don’t do that well, but that’s true in every campaign I’ve played on both sides. Like, some people are just not that great, which is fine, and I don’t think the matchmaker does a lot to narrow skill variance within a single game.
Shovels I think actually do have a lot of potential. As it stands, the big issue with them is that they are slow to dig, and the weapon mount system doesn’t work with it. If you could dig a hole, hop in, mount a machine gun, and set to work, itd be pretty cool. Antitank ditches are also something you can do, and its hilarious to watch a tank just face dive into a ditch and get stuck. Its just not feasible to dig them anywhere useful without rushing for it immediately with a friend. With some tweaking to how they work, they could be a good option for approaching open areas in game.
sure the italian AT tank is good for tanks, ( At stand for Anti Tank, duh ). but that`s it, you dont have an machine gun, you yourself have weak armor. so only reason to pick it is to destroy grants , cause with how weak the other tanks are, with low armor and low crew, instead of 1 shot, it might take 2-3 shots, but at the same time they have machine guns, and moving turrets.
the second and third point go together i think, honestly i`m just not sure whether teammates are bad or bots. but because i see them do really stupid stuff all i can hope for is that they are bots :
stand right outside the cap zone while a single enemy is capturing the point.
not getting inside the building when artillery is bombing you.
trying to melee the enemy close range ( not with a knife, or bayonet, just regular rifle )
and the shovel thing, yes that`s my problem as well, first thing i thought was to dig a trench and place an mg there but you cant, then i thought building ammo or rally point, again - cant.
The cannon on the tank destroyer can still be an absolute menace to infantry if used properly. It has no blast radius, but a ton of shrapnel, so if you aim for terrain behind your targets its lethal in a pretty large area. I’ve used it a fair bit and generally prefer it over the more conventional tank, since their mgs aren’t all that good anyway with their low magazine size. And really, you shouldn’t underestimate the power of a bulky transmission to increase the lifespan of a vehicle. Its the only reason the BA-11 with its functionally nonexistant armor can take hits. As long as the enemy is in front of you, there is a relatively small area for them to hit that actually impairs your capacity to return fire.
So far the biggest struggle in Tunisia are rallies. Had really intense fight as axis again it first it looked bad as we quickly lost first objective because allies build rallies but then somehow stopped so we were able to hold second to last objective. I knew there where at least 2 guys with engineers so I spammed chat requesting rally, they eventually build one in the open but it at least helped for a while but they slowly but piece by piece eventually capped it but they were left with only 200 tickets for the last objectives. Sadly only one of our 2 engineers build rally but it was further away than the default spawn but I was surprised by the score results - we had another guy with engineers and I think he proudly deserves the title of worst engineer, it was really wtf moment.
you should ignore the best engineer reward, it has nothing to do with building stuff, it has more to do with K/D/A.
Tunisia stuggles with rallies the most because you unlock engineer at lvl 9. although honestly by now most people should have already unlocked an engineer, but still.
It was more about that the number 1 player with tons of kills had engineers and didn’t build single rally when it was desperately needed and we lost mostly just because of that.
whole game, i wa doing everything : build rally point, bomb the tanks, defend the point, again build rally point bomb the tank defend the point…
my team wasnt even using the god damn rally points, everyone was spawning back at the regular spawn points.
i wont hide it, i just snapped at the last point and just ran around the map doing nothing.
and that`s how at least 80 % of my tunisia games are…
