Why evaluate the possibility of destruction of buildings

Enlisted in itself is a successful game, in this post I want to invite developers and players to appreciate the idea of being able to add a peculiarity to the gameplay of enlisted, the destruction of buildings.

Many people believe that adding this possibility could create disorder or imbalance between attackers and defenders, nothing more absurd, I’ll explain why:

Being able to destroy most of the buildings, both the attack team and the defense team would be forced to build shelters to avoid battles in the open field dominated by tanks, the advantage would be mutual since, in an even situation without fortifications the team with more firepower would win, in this dynamic the role of the engineer would be much more incisive.

I also want to add other personal opinions to this message:

I find the construction of spawnpoints boring despite it being one of the most important points of the game, in my opinion I would remove the spawnpoint from the engineer class and make the spawnpoint a placeable object such as mines and give it to the sniper who is a rarely used character.

I would like a general graphic rework which I must say is gradually being implemented by the team with updates, but more specifically of the characters’ faces, movements (currently clumsy) and clothing, for example the boots are huge compared to the body.

Furthermore, I would like to see some scenarios added with larger fortifications to be able to create stalemate situations and to manage them more strategically both from the point of view of attack and from the point of view of defense, for example, perhaps the attackers should be able to destroy with the dynamite armored doors to access the fortress or remove impediments placed by the enemy such as barbed wire etc.

Furthermore, in Lone Fighters I would implement the possibility of driving the wagons with the team and not having a ready team.

I have many other ideas but for now I thank you for your attention and await your feedback. Thank you

Being able to destroy most of the buildings,
(every piece of destroyed building would be a separate elements, as it is now most ruble is just a mound with texture thrown over the top, you would limit the game to the current gen console if you had destructible buildings)
(Yeah i know they have done so in bad company 1 and 2 but those were single player games multiplayer games chew up data like a zombie horde)

both the attack team and the defense team would be forced to build shelters to avoid battles in the open field dominated by tanks, the advantage would be mutual since, in an even situation without fortifications the team with more firepower would win, in this dynamic the role of the engineer would be much more incisive.
(People hardly build as it is flinging themselves at each other because getting kills is the fastest way to get points)

I find the construction of spawnpoints boring despite it being one of the most important points of the game, in my opinion I would remove the spawnpoint from the engineer class and make the spawnpoint a placeable object such as mines and give it to the sniper who is a rarely used character.
(No just no its bad enough being snipped from half a planet away)

(Barb wire is a staple that prevents zerg charges you can’t just remove tools without a replacement)

Scene destruction is one of the features I hope to add. But my view is very pessimistic
The biggest problems lie in technical difficulties and optimization issues
This game is full of a lot of explosives, and the intensity of the battlefield is even far greater than that of “Battlefield”. This means that if you add scene destruction, an artillery support or frequent explosions, the game will freeze or even crash.
My computer isn’t particularly good, and I’m pretty sure the scene corruption will make it difficult for me to run this game.

I cannot disagree with you more

I think, for now, the possibility of destruction of buildings, will overload GPU.
Especially, on bomber raids.
But in the future, we will very likely see destruction of buildings in this game.

As a first answer I will tell you that having a decent computer to play any title in full HD today has a much more accessible price than a few years ago, and to point out, during the pandemic most people bought new hardware at more expensive prices .

Secondly, it’s not the house that decides how people want to interact with the game, there are players who stay in the spawn for the whole game, so I would say that there are players and players, I speak for those who face enlisted with a minimum of strategy.

Third, Enlisted has too small maps where the battle is concentrated, this causes slaughter to happen on the battlefield, in my opinion ranged weapons should be enhanced, otherwise there is no point in implementing sniper rifles or normal rifles.

Fourth, I must have explained myself badly, they shouldn’t remove the barbed wire, in the last part I said that we needed more constructive maps for team play.

I don’t understand if you agree with me or not, the fact is that Enlisted has spaces that are too narrow to fight and you can never stay in the same place because once you kill a player the game reveals your position to that player who consequently he will hunt you down

For me, aerial bombardments are completely useless, they rarely kill and rarely destroy strategic objectives on the map, having said this, the GPU ranges that include DLSS or FSR start from very cheap prices and are therefore affordable for the majority of users.

I don’t like Snipers. Don’t have them in any squad. I have Engies in almost every squad. They make that change and I have to rearrange every single squad and likely have to take out my MG Gunner out of every squad in order to put in a Sniper just to be able to put down Rally Points. No

destruction of the building would be a bad idea as the amount of explosives would quickly clear the entire map of any good cover and as a vast no mans land, and relying on people to build things is a bad practice and should not be done

but i would like damage to said buildings with the edges being chipped or windows becoming slightly larger

Or maybe even buildings to catch fire and char but not burn down, campfire just add smores

responding the sniper thing idea…No. the last thing we need is a camping issue with privileges, as for destructible buildings I think they need to add more but not all of the map should be like that, due to GPU and well other hardware restrictions for other players. Only objective buildings should be destroyable, for example in the Pacific the Church on Guadalcanal needs the option to open a hole through the wall because the only way to get in are the doors which can led to basically just block the doors and place mines to repel the attackers and you can’t really do anything about it

Okay I just want to say this: You want SNIPERS.
To Rush towards the battlefield to drop rallies?
Meaning the Long range class has to be close to the battlefield
vs the engineer who will always be close to the battlefield.

Did you… not at all think about this? Plus why on earth would snipers get rallies?! engineers make more sense.

That was to siren boss btw, Not you Kriegerfaust007.

I’m sorry, but what are snipers for then?

it would be nice to have more smoke on the field caused by flamethrowers or gunpowder from weapons, but I think these effects are much harder on the GPUs than the partial demolition of a building

…snipings?

I think this would be a good change to give more space to snipers and add utility even close to the battlefield

as I said above, not all buildings have to be destructible, obviously a balance should be assessed in the destruction, and in any case there would be bunkers that could only be scratched by the intense explosions or at most destroyed by the heavy bombardment on the dome

Sorry if this is a World War II simulation game and not an arcade game, so I invite you to play a game where campers don’t exist.

furthermore you can always dig trenches
