The weapon balance in enlisted is simply broken. Since 4 classes of guns are the best at everything, jack of all trades if you will. These are:
Select fire rifles (FG42/AVS/AVT/M2)
LMGs (MG42/DP27/1919MG)
SMGs (M38/PPSH41/M1A1)
Assault rifles (STG/Federov/MKB)
Using any other gun than these is simply pointless, since against other higher level players that have these and are usually spamming them you will not compete and you will have a very bad experience in the match.
The current problem is that you can have too many of these auto weapons, and they are meta. Even on already extremely powerful classes like engineer, you can also have a SF rifle.
The problem is bigger than just weapon balance in general, its the movement, handling, randomness, mounting, non-restrictions, certain classes not existing to fit these powerful weapons.
Movement first: It needs to have inertia. Now what this means is that you cant simply change direction instantly, your soldier has to stop, turn around and then move in another direction. There needs to be animations for going prone, crouching, standing up, now it is instantaneous, means it is easily abusable like (Press Z repeatedly to get up, go prone instantly to dodge enemy fire) Currently this doesnt exist, which makes it feel unrealistic, and just poorly made, easily abusable.
Jumping is also a problem which is yet to be fixed. If you ask me gravity seems kinda off. Like you dont fall as fast as you should.
Bunnyhopping is still a thing that is yet to be fixed. In enlisted it is really easy to do, since you can jump immediately after another jump. In something like HLL that is simply impossible, since you can jump once like every 2 seconds. This helps to keep the gameplay on the ground rather than in the air.
Why is it possible to shoot while your jumping or in the air? Seems incredibly stupid to leave that in and, once again is easily abusable. Fix it so you cant shoot while in the air.
Why is it that when youre shooting you suffer barely any more inaccuracy than youd be standing, your movement doesnt slow down. This makes for a “run’n gun” experience, that simply doesnt belong in a WW2 game that claims to be historical. Dont make it impossible to shoot while moving, no. But just add more inaccuracy, like weapon sway while moving, slow down movement speed.
Weapons:
Firstly, bolt actions need to have the same damage across all campaigns, as Stalingrad.
Currently, in my opinion you can have too many automatics in a squad.
Lets take Berlin axis as an example:
Regular assaulter squad:
4x Assaulters with MP43/1
2x FG42 II
1x MG42
Or a regular infantry squad:
9x FG42 II
You get it that is simply broken. So there is a really simple and easy fix for this. Add a new class: Auto rifleman. This class would have its own squad with 3 auto riflemen, and 4 other soldiers. This classes weapons would be: (FG42, FG42 II, AVS36, AVT40, M2, M1918A1/A2)
Regular classes, these are: Engineer, trooper, AT bomber, Mortarman, Flametrooper, CAN ONLY HAVE a semi-auto or a bolt action.
I would also suggest reducing the amount of assaulters you can have in a assaulter squad, from 4 to 3.
LMGs - need a complete rework.
Currently they are too powerful, since firing while moving or jumping isnt a problem. Just imagine, a gun having usually around 50 bullets, firing at a fast ROF, that 1 shot people, and can be fired while moving, non ADSing, or jumping. That is pretty broken.
Firstly FIX MOUNTING.
I love how HLL made LMGs. There they are simply a work of art. Mounting is very reliable, and easy. You can only ADS while youre mounted, similar like in BF5. There if you want to shoot while not mounted it take around 1 sec, for your soldier to grab the MGs bipod to hip fire the gun, which feels awesome and serves very good balancing wise. While youre holding the bipod you move very slowly.
- remove the movement inaccuracy with this change
I think making this change would make enlisteds LMGs more realistic and balanced.
I want the game to improve, but sadly i simply dont see that happening anytime soon, since more SFs are planned to be introduced, to make the game even worse than it currently is
