Why do the vast majority of players seem to dislike Stalingrad?

As a full access user for Stalingrad since before it’s release, what I dislike about Stalingrad the most is the shallow map selection. Sure Tractor Factory made me play the campaign more besides I bought my first ever premium squad there of all campaigns with the Naval Infantry PPSh squad but this campaign still needed more maps especially winter ones.

I don’t mind opening up progression for everyone on this campaign while the full access pack can have a lower price. Have thought of stuff what to compensate to FA users but the most important thing is to improve the map selection instead of playing the same few maps over and over again.

On the other hand, the grind is basically unbearable in the other campaigns. I love the Stalingrad campaign :). The maps, cosmetics and tanks are the funnest for the eastern front side of the game IMO.

I’m surprised you don’t like the tanks or map? Almost perfectly to scale city block and tank factory that is universally praised, especially the factory! As a Soviet Main, I can say the KV-1 is suuuper fun and I picked up the new German Tank destroyer just cuz it looked fun and awesome as well (which it was!). Gunplay changed for the worse, like the bolt action buff? I think the Bolt action buff was great. Or do you mean the LMG/stamina thing?

They don’t know that by transferring weapons from Moscow and Berlin they can use them completely free of charge like the mkb42 also buying gold order tanks can be used without paying the full pass

For some the biggest reason is the paywall, alot of things are locked unless you buy the full version which not alot of people can, lack of maps can also factor in, aside from the new factory map there is only one map in Stalingrad. I dont think people hate Stalingrad itself (some do) but by how it was released ie the paywall.

If people can’t afford it, of course that’s something which might feel unfair, definitely. But between October and December when I played as Free Access, I still loved Stalingrad. I only got the Full Access as a specific Christmas gift because everyone knew how much I loved the Stalingrad campaign

I don’t hate it, but it’s my last choice. It’s overall a great campaign, I’m just tired of the same map over and over. Plus with the MGs having the recoil going down rather than up throws me off. If they add a new map or two into the rotation, I’d be down to play it more.

It’s not a matter of “not being able to afford it”.

But rather looking at the cumulative premium content and paywalls that are included in this game. (which is OVER $1,500 USD worth of content)

A lot of players have spent hundreds of dollars (over a period of time), purchasing squad slots, battlepasses, premium xp, premium units, etc…

It all adds up, and these microtransactions can end up costing a player a lot of money (in small amounts at a time)

So when they introduce a new campaign (where half of the weapons/vehicles are locked behind a premium-pass)… it’s just another chance for DF to exploit and take advantage of it’s customers/players who only want to play new maps/historical battles from WW2.

My choice for not playing Stalingrad, is because I do not support this business model (I’ve already spent between $250-$300 over a period of about 14 months).

Enlisted is a VERY expensive F2P game. Especially for anyone wishing to have access to the content locked behind some form of a paywall.

That’s a fair point. But what I will respond with is that purely on an enjoyment level, I thoroughly enjoyed Stalingrad for 2 months before I made my first purchase. I don’t understand the general consensus that Stalingrad is somehow less than the other campaigns

I like the maps aesthetically and they are high quality creations, what I mean is that they don’t play well, especially the factory. The campaign unlocks are boring as it’s mostly a rehash of stuff from other camapigns and the kv1 is actually really frustrating to fight.

Yeah, the BA buff was great. The LMG stamina and recoil changes sucked though and they still haven’t been fixed. Also, I don’t like that engineer weapons are locked to engineers. Stalingrad is kind of like enlisteds ‘special child’ that just has to be different and I wish it was made consistent with other campaigns by changing the recoil and stamina stuff and making engineer weapons available to all like the other campaigns.

I gotchu yeah good points

I love the campaign, but HATE them making us grind the locked levels, it is the most a$$hole move ever. And also poor selection of maps, other than that it’s great.

You can transfer most guns there and tank-wise gold order work as well.

People who play this game for grind are sick tbh.

Infantry fighting feels too much like Berlin because of the end game weapons, except of course that in Stalingrad LMGs are also pure crap.

Also to me, the maps don’t have enough variation - and yeah yeah, it’s a city battle. But it all feels extremely the same to me - except maybe the new one. Berlin seems on average better in that regard.

Except for the progression (which is sometimes fun) there’s not so much that stands out in the campaign.
