For a long time ive asked myself that question. Why do the japanese have only gray colored uniforms ingame? I am no expert about the pacific theater, but i always thought the japanese had brownish colors? There is not a single one ingame. Is there a reason for this?
I think they should add brownish uniforms too:
There is no proper reason. Same problem with germans who got more blue, brown and green instead of the iconic grey. I guess they do it so you would spend money to get correct colors but the funny thing is that there are no correct uniforms available even for money.

the gray uniform is not entirely fiction as people may claim or seem to believe:

( the set being missmathed in of it self is not an issue either. but the lack of any unified set is infuriating )
talking about infuriating things:
it depends from the branch, company, and above all, it depended on the enviroment.
but, yes, the “tan” uniform was widely used. which it’s also in enlisted.
problem is, DF, in it’s infinite wisdom, decided to give said uniform to the pacific pre order ka-chi squad:

why?
it’s to anyone guesses.
all i can say, the tan uniform was suggested many times.
but not much was said or is known.
it is worth to mention that some premium items ended up being available for the default customization, but it might have just been a one off thing.
that, on the other hand,
understaffed.
one of the CM claimed that the person overseeing cosmetics is only one.
hence… why we have such results.
( Edit. yes it’s one of those type of " trust me " situation. the CM it self could be lying or genually telling the truth can’t very such info as i do not work inside DF offices. )
If tommyZZM could make the Big Action Mod by himself, I know good and well a single person can handle this.
