yea if it was 2 50round box then it should have had 100 round also that was interesting i didnt know that about the patronen
Let us educate: Hereâs the anatomy of a patronenthingy
As shown, rounds are âpushedâ by a spring like device, inside the magazine. Rounds are not part of a belt.
ah it kinda like modern drum mag? if i understand it(which im probably not since i dont know anything about gun)
Here you have a more modern design.
Beta C-MAG
NEXT UP, in our educational showcase;
The mg34 ammunition drum (that could also fit mg42)
Here you can see that the âdrumâ is nothing more than an ammunition belt transportation device. It helped using the mg without having the belt dangling all around. Was mostly useful when used offensively. When defending, soldiers could use multiple 50 ammo belts stuck togheter.
To follow up
This part is a starter tap.
Itâs used to load MG a bit quicker by inserting it directly into the port, without opening the top cover and fighting against the belt that may or may not want to stay on itâs place.
You can see how itâs used (more or less) here:
We are so scholarly.
you cry for 100 rounds mag, I cry because nests of axis teams canât aim up and down or left and right like allied ones and itâs unfair
We need functioning bipods first
I agree bipods are janky, but I make due with them. In fact whenever I play Machine Gunner I primarily bipod
overall it has some 20% better actual horizontal recoil and 110 more RPM. i rarely use MG and their performance is relatively similar so i take the one with more bullets.
Iâve wondered why they havenât added one for them people always use the same arguments to avoid actually talking about why belts for German mgs should be in the game âit wouldnât make you any betterâ âits not a big differenceâ âit wonât make your guns recoil any betterâ well gee i didnât know that I guess we needed sherlock and watson to solve that one for us but for real if you donât think it would be big a difference then why comment all the old stereotypes are just that stale leave your war thunder allied riders shit talk in the war thunder chats the 100 round belt was widely used on many German mgs and should be available as a customization or variant in-game if some players would prefer to have less reserve ammo for a single belt why does it matter I would want it so i could have more time in-between reloading as well as less time reloading with the belt firing from the shoulder wouldnât be possible while standing but you could still hip fire also you should still be able to run there should be no changes with the original belt magazine also Germany is defending more often than not so this would make it easier for most players since they wouldnât be changing positions as often or for as long
