Why do people ignore the objective of the game?

First of all, this is a genuine question and not to be interpreted as a troll or rant post.

Why is it that the majority of people just ignore the objective? Nearly every game, especially on Conquest, everyone becomes blind and only goes for Objective B, not realizing that they could go for Objective A and C. Once Objective B is lost, the team will always just keep pushing it despite being able to win with the other unprotected 67% of objectives.

It seems that on top of this, I or my squad mates will be the only ones holding an objective, with no, or very few other teammates doing anything efficient for a capture-based game mode.

I understand that it’s sometimes fun to focus only on kills, but I usually only focus kills when it’s actually helpful to winning such as on defense. I can’t imagine just going for kills is more fun than constantly losing and very slowly leveling up the campaign.

Have others experienced this, what are your thoughts on it, or how do you think this could be improved?

I think a lot of players worry about their K/D to much in this game. They are playing more to survive than they are playing to win.

Outside of the 10 teams lost limit within conquest, the deaths are pretty much meaningless. Sure, in Assault there is a set amount of casualties for the attacker; however, if you never take ground it just makes for a longer game as the defender has unlimited resources.

The question I always have though is… “Why the hell doesn’t everyone have an engineer in each squad?” It is the most important soldier with its rally point and ability to determine how fast and where reinforcements come from; yet, most players can’t be bothered to carry one.

You get MORE xp for kills than capturing points. So why die in a capture point when you can just sit back and wait to get kills.

This is something that needs to be adjusted, absolutely.

But you lose the 1.5x multiplier you could get from winning the game. Also the best way to get kills is to camp spawn points and catch people mid rotations, which is best done AFTER you captured at least 2 points and limited the area of the map they can come from.

Honestly, it’s much much easier to farm kills when you control the map.

“rush B” is a mindset I don’t understand at all here.

In the majority of maps, or at least half, B is the least defensible point with no redeeming factors and is a complete liability to the team trying to hold it, so why do the majority of players still rush it?

On the swamp map especially: you’re in a hole that’s easy to attack and hard to defend, you can’t use it to shoot into other objectives, and you can’t even see anything useful from it. Why does it always have the most players attacking such a garbage point? You’re gaining nothing to fight over it when A and C are more defensible and drain tickets faster.

It’s a testament to the stupidity of the community.

conquest is just bad implemented, if you play for trying to win u dont get as many points as brawling non stop its also not as fun, that is why most players just go to B 24/7, to brawl forever. They should increase the capture points by a lot, x5 or so, Rigt now you get 50 points per capture, which is a joke

No objectives give more xp than kills. Win is the best xp modifier.

They need to add voice chat to the game it doesn’t matter how much I type about getting an objective no one seems to care. This game is literally all about objectives. I like just getting kills as much as the next guy, but there has got to be more communication when playing an objective game.

Objective defense kills give more xp than kills, and wins add another multiplier.

They need to add xp multipliers inside capture points to help encourage people to try to assault or defend an objective a bit more. They should also have increased multiplier for engineers building inside objective points. Because they are having to stop focus on shooting and more on strategy on placing sand bangs and barb wire down inside the heavily defended places. You have got to give people incentive to do things.

People go for B because its Bots. Bots are more likely to charge at B

Conquest is worst, you can sit at a point and you dont get rewarded and will be placed bottom on Scoreboard. meanwhile if you gun and kill youll be at top while ignoring objective

Because capture a sector only gives you 50 (25 if you exit half way). And a kill is 30. And staying inside sector shooting outside does not give any bonus. Only shooting enemy inside sector has 15 bonus. So, staying inside to defend dosent give any bonus at all! Sniping outside and get 2 kills is more score than you capture a sector.
Game really doesnt reward a lot for player that try to focus on the sector.

Because taking over the target doesn’t win you? ( beyond invasion)

this game needs it gameworks to be reworked, it would be better to have some sense of a frontline, than running and gunning between capturepoints or rushing conquest.

it would be better to have the map split up into sectores.
