Just what the title says. I keep seeing the Pz 4 J, which is a BR4 tank, in BR1 matches. And it quite understandably is steam rolling just about everything.
Can someone at least explain to me what is going on?
and yes; all my squads are listed as BR1 so I know I’m not being mismatched.
The Pz.IV J is Tier 4, but it’s actually BR 3.
Since matchmaking is 1/2/3, this is normal.
This is all true but a problem in my opinion. Stacks of German mains all run that tank so you see it over and over in low tier matches.
I look forward to the day that BR +/-1 can be implemented.

It was also the default tank in the berlin campaign, so anyone that played before the merge will have it and can use it.
And it is a beast compared to BR1 and BR2 tanks and AT weapons - especially American. Therefore, it is the main tank you see people run. And it sucks that this is how it is.

They ruined the whole game with just a few horrible choices.
Player wants to play BR 1.
Game puts him against BR 3.
Player not happy.
Game: “is normal”.
Yeah. Nearly everything I have is BR1. I actually thought it was +1 / -1 like WT. It’s actually wider than that? It’s only a few point wide system… if it’s wider than +/- 1 then what is the point of the system since that would lump huge amounts of kit against each other that, balance wise, really has no business fighting it.
History wise is different of course; but strictly a BR system is a bunch of balance choices.
Tbf Pz IV G, F2 and J are all in BR3 while H is in BR4 which makes it almost useless by default consider the average opponent it face in BR4 or BR5, I mean probably work against US 76w but Jumbo? Nah good luck sniping the MG port, or why don’t you just get a Panther instead?
This affect all the faction not only the german buddy.
Why using Sherman II, M4A1 when you can use M4A2 that is straight better.
Why bothering with the M10 when you have 76 sherman and jumbo. I mean giving IV J a BR 3 but M10 a BR 4… Seriously ? Well that won’t change anything because the us player will be sent to BR 5 regardless while germans can enjoy their clubbing I suppose.

No one use Pz IV G or F2 since those are underpowered against KV1 in Stalingrad, and Pz IV J is the best BR3 tank even being the worst Pz IV variant

Also you just said that Panther is there anyway so what’s the problem ? There is no reason to play IV H ? Well then tell me what is the point of using F2, M10 and base T-34 when you have straight better tank in the same BR anyway.
Compression is a thing, so many vehicle at the same tier are not really usable because there are other things straight up better.
For instance, why using the BR 5 sherman 76 once the Pershings are there ? Same issue with the 4 H. Some vehicle will have to suffer, it is to easy to say “put this one in a lower BR” and then it will outperform other tanks at this BR, tanks that will not be really useful after.
Imo, the 4 H should be at BR 3 if the J is also at BR 3. Same should be said about the M10, but no one seems to bother about this one. But once you start dowtiering stuff, other people from other faction will ask the same, what’s next ? T-34-85 at BR 3, Pz 4 F2 at BR 2, Sherman II at BR 2, etc…
Never said the other nations has no issue, clearly all Casemate tank should drop 1 BR or being 1 BR lower than the tank with the same gun they have…
No, people suffer 2 years ago still suffer, the japs still have the same shite tanks and even uptiered unreasonably and now they are the one who need to snipe the Jumbo MG port with even worse tank and AT guns, the whole german non big cat can still get one shotted by other nations low BR tanks that doesn’t use an Autocannon, actually exclude the 23mm Milktruck, that thing can actually pen the Pz IV turret, the soviet and US are still lacking playerbase

Never said that Jumbo was balanced against the japanese nor it was balanced vs Pz4s.

They got uptiered to BR5 along side my Königstiger “Thanos”.
