Only zerg rushing? You end up see an infinite swarm of plane kamikaze on the point every 20s
Zergrush means " mindless frontal attack"
What else you want to have in 10 min battles?
How about defenders get 250 (or whatever) tickets per point. When they run out of tickets, anyone who spawns, spawns in the next defence area in a “preparation period”. They cant assist with battle on the previous point BUT they can prepare defences until the previous cap falls.
Then when the attackers cap, and the next zone opens, they will be ready.
This way they cant zerg counter attack, but they also get some time to prepare and fortify.
Makes it harder for attackers to snowball (still possible to cap while defenders have tickets) but also limits defenders from counter attacking with impunity.
I, too, would experiment with a mixed system where attackers still get a global pool of 1000 tickets same as now (plus reinforcements, but defenders get smaller separate pools of tickets , say 300 per cap or so.
It sounds like it could work, on paper. Attrition would work both ways.
Because it works.
Unpopular opinion: attacking is much easier than defending in this game.
It is if you have a good team and kit.
HOWEVER if you have an HMG and good team with engineers, the cap can be a nightmare for the attackers.
if, if, if…
A good team will beat a bad team in either role.
If there’s going to be limits on the defender then at a minimum they have to be able to recapture points in all modes.
I saw the defenders recapture the point in Tunisia not long ago.
Defenders can recap points in Assault, but not in invasion - in Invasion they can recap a point that has not been fully taken is all.
and of course you can’t recap in Destruction either.
They’re all the same to me.
Cap/defend a point.
Kill anything that moves.
Mark enemies.
An entirely reasonable approach to the game!!
This is DF style balance.
So… give up!
At least add some restriction on aircrafts and tanks for defending. To destroy these monsters always needs to pay a lot of tickets and have least help for the cap. An experienced pilot or tank commander could block attacking easily, especially in D-day or Quarry.
I agree on most maps. There are a few where attacking is tough unless you have all bots on the defense side.
I would guess that my success rate is much higher on attack than defense.
I mean it is, because you mostly know where the enemies are and their positions, while in defense you have to guess.
i cant believe there are people complaining
about defenders.
just put a rally on one corner of the map
far away and it is done
look for defenders rally and destroy them
then push.
Defenders are seriously weak
there is no time to build defenses
most people dont build rally points
you spawn on the point
you have 2 choices
either build barbwire and sandbags making the point the most inhospitable zone you can with all bots blocking your construction
or go back and build rally
and there is no much time
you will die by grenade if you stay building in the cap zone.
Defending the point on the point is weak.
Defending the point by unlimited counter attacking/intercepting is strong
Best defence is offense.
that is what i learned
but you need a team
of people
that build more than 1 rally
and that is rarely seen.
