Why Copy the Same AT Guns for Japan, and USSR?

I noticed that they just copied the same stuff to Japan by introducing the 75 mm Pak 40 AT cannon, but come on, Japan should have their own equivalent, not a German gun. It makes no sense to keep repeating the same weapons across factions.

How about giving Japan the Type 90 75 mm field gun as a base, or even better, a late-war version with increased power that can compete with higher BR tanks? Something unique to their tech tree.

Also, introducing the QF 17-pounder for both the USA and USSR? Seriously? USSR has its own AT guns, and we all know they don’t need to copy Allied equipment like this. Why not give the USSR their own powerful AT gun equivalent to the QF 17-pounder instead of just borrowing from others?

The USSR has its own powerful AT guns! Why not introduce the 85 mm D-48 anti-tank gun or the 100 mm BS-3, which are more appropriate for their faction .
Feels like they’re taking shortcuts by recycling equipment between factions instead of giving each one historically accurate and unique options.

keep the diversity between factions alive.

you should actually read more, they pretty blatantly said it was placeholder in the comments

Because they’re placeholders, they’ll get proper models later

Why introduce an AT gun for high BR if they couldn’t get the proper model up in time? they should hold off on introducing it until it’s ready.
this can lead to confusion and frustration among players who expect a balanced experience( like me)

Lol keep using that terrible 47mm type 1 at gun on high br will lead to more frustration.

I do agree that I would prefer they fully finalize a mechanic before releasing it, like when Japan was using the PTRS in place of the Type 97, but they may just want to rush it out asap

So are just the models placeholder ( but with unique penetration) or is the entire gun just a normal pak 40 plug use as a placeholder?

You don’t seem to understand my point.

Imagine if they introduced the Tiger I instead of the Ho-Ri for Japan, saying a proper model would come later! that would lead to disappointment among players.

They should prioritize getting the right models and balancing before releasing new equipment. Otherwise, we’re just setting ourselves up for more confusion

Lol releasing nothing will also cause disappointment. Even worse is the unbalanced problem is still there.

And what will those confusion actually affect?
And there is no balance anyway if you are still using the 47mm type 1 on high br.

But nothing has been fully released yet, the test server is just a test server…

The update could possibly still be months away and they just want to test their tiggers for AT gun selection according to the BR on the test server which clearly was needed…

Not really, if they release the test server the update is close, it won’t be months away.

I’m waiting for that Type 90

for what actually? to suck? its 103mm penetration wont really help against jumbos, pershing or super pershing.

well japan bought tiger I from germany, so it wouldnt be that inaccurate :stuck_out_tongue: it was never shipped but that is story for another time.

its BR III there gonna be 3 anti tank guns for each faction…

did they announce 3 AT guns per faction? cause i was under impression that it will be only 2 guns.

There will be 3 for each faction but for Japan probably will be something experimental for BR V

I think there are still some AT guns comming but as they announced heavy AT guns for all factions and I dont think that the pak40 counts as one when it is just a BR 3 gun and then already is in use for USSR and germany. So far they only added a single heavy AT gun for a fingle faction.

they added heavy AT gun? where? if you mean 76mm, i wouldnt call that heavy cause it has ~same penetration as pak 40 (well 20mm more).

btw for heavy i expect minimum 90mm for US and 88mm for germany with 100mm for soviets.

was this confirmed somewhere? cause i only read high caliber AT guns for high BR battles. nowhere did i see 3 AT guns mentioned.
