Why are the Soviet troops in BR5 weak?

The best way is to weaken the damage done by tank guns to infantry.
Although this may not be the optimal solution, it is the most suitable for this game.
Other methods, such as adding vehicle cost restrictions to the camp, extending the vehicle resurrection time, or requiring high-kill players to be eligible to dispatch vehicles, are inappropriate.
Because every player has paid for the research and development of vehicles, he is certainly qualified to experience it directly.

I mean, why would people play BR5 Soviet/US when they can chill playing Germany top BR ? Why suffering at the hand of german mains if you can join them instead ?

Honestly BR 5 germany is the new Tunisia/Berlin Axis where you just farm bots and clueless people. It helps to grind the event.

This might change with the upcoming Bulge update and the arrival of the free soviet soviet. But it might as well stay like this forever.

But which faction players are willing to play is beyond the control of game developers.
What the developers have to do is work hard to narrow the differences between the two camps and give players a reason to play the camp with fewer people.
Or make it interesting enough to have its own unique character
At least BR5 has a lot of American army players. Although their infantry weapons are worse than those of the Soviet army, it has its own characteristics. It has a powerful air force, fun paratroopers and a good occupation mechanism.

Since the Berlin Axis camp obtained Tiger King P and Tiger King H, a large number of players have flocked to the Berlin Axis camp.
So I think it may be because of the difference in tanks. The IS-2 is really not that fun to play compared to the King Tiger tank. Its reload time drives me crazy.
But the King Tiger tank is very comfortable for me to drive. I can even make a cup of tea and play with it slowly.

They should nerf IS2 armor and bring it in line with its real life stats and then put it into BR4, its extremely long reload is simply a too big downside.

Or even better, remove the Tiger II H from the game and replace it with another German vehicle.

The short gun Chi Ha shell is smaller, lighter and so the gun… all the soviet tanks has issue with the claustrophobic tank design they have, and the main reason of their high casuality

You wonder why the 76mm from T28 has faster reload than the 76.m from the T34 despite being the same caliber? Yep

Vehicle are not really cheap in the merge though lmao

Before the merge announcement the soviets been spamming T34s whenever they can, after the Merge announcement, Berlin Axis got their boost of playerbase and turn the tide completely while the soviet fled to Moscow leaving the germans dominating Berlin

Post merge, I can see many people spamming tanks no matter how bad they are, so yeah, you will see more people using tanks with more player in the team

The issue is, when you compare the soviet and european axis factions side-by-side, they are actually the most balanced in terms of matchups of the 3 major factions.

In fact, from a small arms perspective, the soviet side is clearly favored when it comes to datamined stats. From a tank perspective, somewhat in favor of the european axis, but only on the end-tier, and on the plane perspective, they are relatively evenly matched in terms of firepower- Though soviet planes are slower by default.

I am against artificially inflating the statlines of factions any more than what we already have.

We already have precedents in the past. Back before the merge, whenever the cap timers/ticket counts favored one faction over the other, the popularity of that faction skyrockets.

For example, the allies had a cap timer of 20 seconds, but the axis had a cap timer of 40 seconds for the same map at one point in Tunisia. This made playing the axis faction unpopular as people who were aware of how significant the changes were switched sides and started playing the allies because it became more frustrating to play as axis in the same campaign.

People will naturally gravitate towards what is convenient over what is fair, partially because people are incentivized to “win”, and are further incentivized by the long grind this game offers. The less effort exerted to achieve results, the more convenient it is to play the faction- Especially when it also means you won’t have to fight for your life every game.

In that regard, we have a present example with the popularity of the european axis faction leading to people to flock towards that faction.

If you wish to raise the popularity of a faction, we need an incentive system that offers bonus exp depending on the number of players queuing as that faction. The less populated it is, the higher the bonus.

True. IS-2 is much less forgiving than the German cats. Miss one shot and you’re screwed

I used to be a Tunisia main, where essentially all tanks were evenly matched, and there were plenty of strategic ways to counter tanks or Axis machine guns. But now, I don’t even know what Tunisia is like or how the balancing is, because it’s nigh on impossible to get into a Tunisia match at high U.S./U.K. BR. Matter of fact, I haven’t gotten into a single Tunisia match since the merge, although, I haven’t tried using low BR squads; but I’m trying to get the USSR paras from the event and not waste time dilly-dallying.

This is probably what would fix a great amount of problems that have come with the merge. A good system would probably work by grouping tanks into light, medium, and heavy tanks; having the respawn time for each being around 30-60 seconds longer than the previous ( With the cooldown being put across the entire team, like the vehicle cooldown at the start of a match).

dont worry… with ardennes you will get lots of people grinding allies new tanks so you will see great shift of population…

NO! YOU GOTTA BELIEVE, OR PRAY, EVEN!

They will be… THEY MUST BE!!!

I want them since years. I want them more than I wanted the big cats…

James hinted it with one answer, when asked. Can never say directly because they don’t have the right to, but USA is getting new metal. Just dunno what.

Most likely due to turret layout and if they use 1 piece (everything already in the shell) or 2 piece ammunition (loading the shell+ an additional propellant charge).
In the xray of the chi ha you can see that it has only regular ammunition in their storage but the IS 2 not only has the regular tank round but the large propellant in its storage so you need to load 2 seperat things first befor you can shoot compared to just 1.

Maybe they’ll add some French tank squads in an event or something when the Ardennes map comes.

well yeah…thats because it is.

If you want to play Tunisia, you have to play low/Mid BR.

Br 4 and 5 cant see Tunisia

Part of me doesn’t quite agree
After the merger, Germany obtained the powerful JU188 in BR5. Not only did it fly faster than the Il-10, it also carried four more 250KG bombs than the Il-10.
The Soviet army obviously did not have an aircraft comparable to the JU188

Based on the unreasonable vehicle mechanism of this game, Germany used its superiority in tanks to continuously expand its advantage. However, the Soviet army was unable to use its infantry to expand its advantage because the weapons of the German infantry were also excellent.
At least the difference is not as big as the IS-2 and the King Tiger tank

I don’t see why the matchmaking has been reworked like that. When I played before the merge, the Tunisia matches were perhaps the most balanced out of all the games, with some matches going on for ages without any side progressing. I feel like there’s no good reason the alteration of the matchmaking going to the exclusion of entire maps.

And they still are.

They sort of actually preserved Tunisia, Moscow and Stalingrad in this way. For BR 1 and 2 anyway. BR 3 is a roll of the Dice. BR 4 and 5 is a cluster fuck, but it was always going to be.

The gear available there is much the same, and not too badly balanced (some changes needed ofcourse).

you can build a very potent BR 2 deck that is very reminiscent of Tunisa, minus a few things that you can get by trying your luck at BR 3

Build this deck and you will enjoy Tunisia/Pacific (the gear matchup anyway…no guarantees for your team mates lol)

You just have to give up some stuff like the Beaufighter and drum thompson. But in return you get access to alot more equipment from the other USA campaigns.
