The Soviet army’s current performance in BR5 is very poor, resulting in a one-sided massacre of the BR5 German army against the Soviet army.
This problem is not what I expected, because these problems of the Soviet army before the merger were very serious but failed to be important. What I want to discuss today is why the Soviet army performed so poorly in BR5:
First of all: In the Battle of Berlin before the merger, the weapons of the Soviet army and the German army were very homogeneous, such as AS-44 and STG-44, AVT and FG42-2. Their shooting feel and gameplay were roughly the same, so maybe it could Solving the balance problem, but the developers forgot one thing, a large amount of homogeneity made vehicle differences an Achilles heel.
The consequence of homogeneity is that as long as one party is stronger in a certain area, this advantage will be infinitely magnified, and eventually it will become the straw that breaks the camel’s back.
Let’s take a look at the difference between IS-2 and King Tiger. I don’t want to complain about who can’t beat the other. In my eyes, the IS-2 1944 and King Tiger H are almost evenly matched against each other.
However, the reload time of the IS-2 makes it completely inferior to the King Tiger H in supporting infantry.
The reloading time of the IS-2 is 21 seconds, while the King Tiger H only has 7 seconds. In other words, in the time it takes for the IS-2 to fire one shot, the King Tiger H can fire at least 3 rounds.
The caliber advantage of 122 is completely overshadowed by the reloading speed of King Tiger H!
Let’s take a look at the Chi-Ha Short Gun of the Japanese army. Its caliber is 120mm, but its reloading time is only 10 seconds.
Why is the reloading speed of the IS-2 so different? !
In addition, I must reiterate that the vehicle deployment mechanism of this game is very, very, very unreasonable.
Even if I ignore the IS-2’s HE and focus on using its AP against King Tiger H, hey, at least I destroyed it and I can ignore my reload disadvantage, right?
I am also confident that I can drive it to destroy King Tiger H, then I will face a problem:
You can deploy up to two tanks in one game. Even if the opponent’s tanks don’t fight back and focus on using HE to attack the infantry, after I destroy one tank, the other one will at least have time to fire 3~4 rounds, let alone destroy it. One tank is likely to have the next tank deployed immediately.
So even if I drive the IS-2 and try hard to stop the German tanks from harassing my teammates, the end result may be meaningless efforts.
As the attacker, they may lose manpower, but as long as one of the enemy’s shells is a lucky shot while I am loading the shells, the consequence is likely to be that a large number of my teammates will be wiped out with one shot, resulting in the loss of strategic points.
As a defender, damn, they have unlimited manpower which means unlimited vehicles, unlimited King Tiger H and JU188, the terrifying steel torrent is coming, bastard!
Before the merger, there were probably only 2 to 4 players on both sides in a game. If I successfully destroyed an enemy tank while driving a tank, it is very likely that the other side would not deploy any more tanks for a period of time.
However, after the merger, the number of players in a game has increased, and it is likely to be a 4V4 or above confrontation. Then there will be more players deploying vehicles, and the confrontation between vehicles will become meaningless.
To be honest, you really need to re-examine the mechanism of vehicle confrontation, because currently, whether it is an aircraft or a tank, vehicles are too cheap, and destroying enemy vehicles cannot buy you breathing time.
So, do you think the Soviet army is weak in BR5?
