I just recently got 2nd hand 5700 xt and now i can play game no problem on ultra at over 120fps (tested Tunisia and Berlin 144fps 95% of the time, Normandy runs a bit worse but still around 120fps) however when i played Pacific i’m always at 100fps or below, even High is not stable 144fps. On my old gpu Gtx 1060 i remember it used to give me trouble and even on low it was kinda sluggish with the framerate while all other campaigns had significantly higher framerate.
I blame it on the the high volume of moving/waving foliage in the background.
Maybe it’s because of all the trees and bushes.
All the other campaings are in cities and villages and there are not that many trees, while most of the pacific maps are in forests.
What they need to do is drop support for the PS4, Xbox One consoles and Xbox Series S (it is weaker than the previous Xbox One X, it is an odd duck console much weaker than a base PS5 or Series X, kind of holding back next gen system optimization)
Then they can crank the graphics back up to how pretty they were in the Alpha build. The LOD or draw distance has gotten worse in the 2 years i’ve played. I can stand in some places and zoom in on my rifle and wood piles will appear. then zoom out and the wood will disappear. Because they had to optimize for last gen consoles which came out in 2012, and they were already based on a 2010 AMD laptop CPU/GPU. Time to move on console guys. You can find a PS5 at walmart or gamestop now, the shortage is over.
Water.
It’s very simple, it’s the only campaign where the allies must also display what is behind them, so that they can quickly flee toward the next objective.
