Why all arcade?

In my opinion, since the game came out until now it has become more and more arcade game, turning into a free call of duty. When it started, it was an excellent game, because it was in the middle between an arcade game and a simulator, a style of play that made it different from what was on offer at the time, but as time has passed, it has become a game that has benefited the player who runs and guns without fear of being downed making his best “invasion” game mode a 100 meter dash. So all the realism that adds up with the uniforms, weapons and scenery goes to waste the moment one experiences the gameplay. The speed of combat has been prioritized for the essence of being in a battle. I have played since the game was released and the truth is that its gameplay is the reason that today I try to look for other offers. I would like Enlisted to go back to what it was before with respect to its gameplay, which made it different from the rest of the games, and not just another game. It is my simple opinion. Greetings

Saludos

I feel like that the game doesn’t know if it wants to be a full-on arcade or if it wants to keep the promise of being faithful to historical accuracy and advanced combat mechanics. I hope the next updates (major/merge) will address this.

The game’s most unique feature is the squad game mode, Not simulator battles. Its still far more realistic than most FPS games, I like the unforgiving reload system which keeps track of your mags, just like RO2 did but most players since this is a f2p game are not here for playing a simulator.

Except:

  1. AI sucks in 75% of cases.
  2. One of the game’s main features is being semi-realistic. At least that’s how it was in my case.
But sadly it CoD plebs wants to destroy this and opposes anything that isn’t arcade.

This. Without the AI I wouldnt mind historical setup games with limited weapons etc.

I have similar thoughts, i guess devs and the majority of players do actually want it to be this way
I know many many people have been asking for some slower realism mode (including myself) but they just won’t do that. Could be that the development of AI does not yet allow it, or perhaps never will, so fast, mindless and shallow gameplay is what we have now.

I find this game is a great mix of casual arcade and immersive hardcore

It does. Just semirealism which, in practice, comes to old familiar arcade meat rush but with uncomfortable limitations also

great

Somebody met not enough bugs i see

Lol, how about those hardcore player that want to turn this game into PS/HLL 2.0?
Hardcore fans also destroy the semi-realistic by opposing anything that isn’t hardcore.

Since you didn’t have any tester badge. I assume you play this game from the start of the OBT.

As a player that started to play this game 1 month after the OBT. I think that this game already benefit player who run and gun at that time.

So can you tell me what changes that is after OBT makes this game more arcade and benefits the run and gun people more?

Well back in CBT I did specifically send my AI into the action so that they could apply pressure to the frontline, while I stay back and pick my targets.

AI actually was strong and got a lot of kills.

Nowadays when ever I do this my whole squad will always get wiped in seconds without even getting a single kill.

AI is nothing but cannon fodder.

No they don’t.
Because devs don’t listen o them in most cases (in comparison).

Maybe give some examples of dev make game more arcade by listening to cod pleb?

Making AI less lethal.
AI used to score quite a few kills but some ppl were complaining they can’t mass murder almost defenceless enemies. (Note: I don’t mean shooting through bushes. This was an anomaly.)

Existence of explosive pack.
Though thankfuly it was nerfed quite a bit.

Heavy focus on SMG and AR weapon types.

Though all of this depends on personal taste so many ppl will probably disagree with me.

I doubt that is an intended stuff. I think that is just because of the incompetence of dev. Since Ai is very bad at path finding, sometimes 180 degree turn to kill you, sometime totally ignore you.

According to footage from a YouTube video on 2020 April 1( first open pre-alpha test of Enlisted), the explosive pack was already there.

What do you mean by heavy focus?

Yeah, and quite a few ppl were suggesting to remove it or make it only damage tanks.
But then ppl complained they can’t get no effort tank kills.

SMGs/ARs are the “go to weapon” in most cases. Gameplay is designed in a way that supports CQC weapons the best at the expense of everything else.
While you can use other “long range” options, ppl will often complain that you are “useless sniper”. You can see this very well here on the forum.

So basically game encourages you to go CQC with SMGs and community complains if you don’t.

I will do the devil’s advocate here because…

Remember when people were saying that bunny hoping was a BIG ISSUE of the game and they fucked the smooth movement that Enlisted had to appease those complaints?

Enlisted actually had pretty good movement and was one of the most controllable games in that regard, jumping was smooth, laying was smooth, etc.

The start of the bugs with fucked up stairs, windows, clunky movement, all started after that update, people who want to run and gun still do so but now at the cost of controllability and several bugs like the jump a window challenge or treat every little bump like a 2 meters fall we have now.

Then that is not an example of dev make game more arcade since it already there at the start.

After going through some early game footage, I think that the gameplay is designed for CQC at the start.
So the game didn’t become more arcade by this reason.

I guess you are right guys.
