i get that it might be historically accurate but the panzer simply has no chance at all. the t34 is fast has much better armor and a better gun. what does the panzer have? nothing at all. it just cannot compete. to kill a t35 you need a really precise shot into the cheek or take a chance and shoot the hull. the t35 can shoot anywhere and kill you in one shot. plus its faster and reloads quicker. there is just no comparison. i think the panzers cannon should be buffed to have much more penetration so it can reliably pen.
on another note i recently became a german main and my win ratio went from 52% right down to 39% in just a few hours. wtf. why is germany doing so bad. this is supposed to be a game not a history lesson., ive been playing germany for 5 hours now and haven’t won a single game, and before you say im just bad i usually get top 3 or top 5 if its a bad one.my teammates just dont bother using the tank and when they do they get slaughtered
i have done many times and usually it takes 2 or 3 shots. only time i get an insta kill is if its looking the other way and i get a clean shot into the ammo rack
There is a disparity between the tanks, but the PZ4 can be rewarding if played correctly.
You need to use the terrain and have a team that spots for you. Not knowing where the tank is usually gets you killed quickly.
There is not an easy solution for this, and pushing the performance past historical levels is unfortunately not the best solution either.
The PZ4 will teach you to be cautious with your tank, and only reveal yourself when you can take an opportunistic shot.
It also doesn’t get much better. Panther is weak in the right check, and can get OHK. Tiger E as well.
Tanking in this game is both rewarding and frustrating. It takes time to hone your skills, and learn to play to your tanks abilities.
I took mine for granted in the early days and tried to play then exactly like the Russians did, in the open commanding a large FOV and killing infantry. Realistically, you need to be in cover and find them first. Even if you only kill crew, that buys you time to either pull back out to cover if possible.
Lastly if you do fire first and don’t kill, turn your turret about 10 degrees or so so his shot in return is not flat on. Every little bit helps.
how am i supposed to be cautious when the enemy captures the point and im forced to fall back in less than 5 minutes. im constantly forced to either push the objective to save my team or fall back when my team loses it. every single match germany gets completely steamrolled on berlin atleast. and there really isnt much i can do about it if i get into a position where i can defend the point then i get killed by infantry and if im too far away we lose the point instantly. it also doesnt help that i seem to be the only german tanker in the game im at the point of ditching germany and joining the russians. which is something i really dont want to do. but no matter what i do we get steamrolled every single game. perhaps its just that german berlin players are just fat noobs
Playing Pz IV in Berlin indeed is painful. I´m glad that I got tank destroyer from the event months ago, so I can troll t-34s as much as I like.
(When I play Berlin, which does not happen often at all)
just play CAS if you can’t get your head around tanking (unironically the easiest version of any dagor-based tank combat since the reticle just lights up green when you can penetrate)
If your team is losing the point, and your in a tank, than answer is simple, get out of the tank.
The biggest mistake one can make is not adapting to the evolving combat situation.
I made the exact same one when I first started playing.
Then I learned that sometimes I need to be doing what the map and situation dictate. This is not a set piece battle. Its a dynamic combat situation that requires you to respond to whatever is happening at that time.
Some capture zones are good to cover with a tank, but others need you to be infantry instead, and you have to adapt your playstyle to fit that as best you can.
Any Campaign , as any faction can screw you over for population, depending on server and time of day. Not much can be done about that until they build in at least a basic MM system.
But its up to the players who are in that match to recognize where they are needed and what they need to do.
That is really thr only reason I ever got premium time here, to give me extra squads so I can tailor my troop list to counter most of what I am up against.
You started your rant about tanks, and evolved it to a campaign problem.
My first post was covering how to fight against the tank you stated and asked about.
As for this post, that is the best advice I can give.
I have with my wife, come up against situations being outnumbered and pushing past it for the most part by just fighting past it.
Sometimes you can’t and you lose and you just have to accept it as part of the game right now.
If I find that there are no other human players for a few games in a row, I just flip to a different campaign and try there.
When they build a MM it will at least even th odds a bit.
