Just finished this, and even with our Marshall’s we had a mudhole stomped in our butts. And NO, I did not desert! I took it like a big boy.
Military rank just symbolizes how many games have been played
Usually if the record is good enough, a small amount of points can be guaranteed even if you fail.
If you are good enough, you can even get enough points while being a deserter in small quantities.
So military rank does not mean they are good warriors
I imagine he knows that
I don’t think that makes a lot of sense. If you are good enough to absorb the losses by deserting and still move up the ranks - then, well, that means you’re at least half decent.
Granted, I’m perhaps an average player at this point, and I have 4 stars, so, I agree, it’s no guarantor of excellence, but it also means you have someone who’s been enough matches that they’re going to know a lot of tricks to this game - some of which take hundreds of games to get good at - or even to have the equipment to do.
I mean, just something as simple as having anti-personnel mines - that’s not something that a lot of privates and corporals are going to have. (Meaning, NONE will, unless they are paying for silver.) They won’t have APCs or trucks. They may not even have engineers so they can’t make the rally points either.
I think a lot of the pre-merge players have absolutely no clue just how expensive everything is for a noob at this game.
High rank PC players vs low rank console players.
Now that’s real humiliation.
Yeah, I have said this before but even though I am a Marshall again, I don’t consider myself any more then an average to above average player at best. I am just retired so I have a lot of time on my hands. Before they reworked the match making, I had dropped from playing maybe 20-25 matches a day, to 3 to 5. Now since they are somewhat more competitive I am probably back up to 15 to 20 a day.
Of course I know how expensive it is
I sold all the high-level soldiers I had reserved and spent all the 10 million I earned within one month to prepare teams of different levels and camps.
Then you work harder than me
I will only play when the activity is refreshed
Some days it seems like I work and work in the game and all I do is die.
More than 90% of cases
Game controller users make the worst teammates
And you can find them by using the icons on the score sheet
when there are too many of them
Reason for desertion +1
You might - and others might, but I don’t know how many times I’ve read on these forums something along the lines of, “it only takes a few weeks to ” whether it’s to move out of BR1 or BR2, or learn everything about the game (e.g. not be a noob any longer), or whatever.
Your average gamer is not one who reads everything about the game or even one who goes to forums. And far more often than not, it’s the marshals and generals of the army that are top third, if not overall top, of the score charts.
But, I’ll be the first to agree with Lovetospooge here and say my rank is not an indicator of how I will do. I tend to like to support a team and WIN - so, I am a habitual rally point/APC bringer. I don’t like to snipe, since sniping doesn’t win matches, so I’ll burn through assault squads. I’ll go on a string of matches and be lucky to break into the top 5, often b/c I’m trying to level up some of my squads and they aren’t exactly outfitted as well as they could be.
And I absolutely hate to melee since it absolutely sucks, IMO having it bound to a mouse button, but I can’t find a good keyboard button to bind it to either.
But, I feel like I’m the exception to the rule - overall, higher ranks tend to be better player. And, I also wouldn’t mind if they didn’t have ranks at all. I don’t really want to feel the pressure that’s expected - I far more enjoyed being a private or sergeant and scoring well and feeling that I was punching above my weight class - than I do coming in 8th in a match and feeling like I’m disappointing my team.
Happens to me every single day😂
But thats my skill issue as marshal
With the fact that the worst 4 players from the entire enlisted comminity can just group up and play the most overpopulated faction over and over and get to max rank in a week, ranks lost all meaning
I hate to melee because I SUCK at it.
if they are unwilling to learn
So isn’t it natural to waste a lot of time and resources and to learn to survive by being tortured?
This is R18 PVP battle, not Baby Bus
If they can’t even look up information and learn, then most of the negative feedback they encounter is just a matter of course.
What negative feedback? How many people do you think - both willfully “don’t learn” and also then come to the forum and happen across the negative feedback?
Fact is, if some of these “veterans” aren’t forced to stay in matches (by way of a severe penalty) - like basically every other game out there - then they bail on games. And somehow you all say that if you can’t bail on matches then you’ll quit anyway.
So quit and save everyone the time. They absolutely need to UP the penalty for desertion. If it’s not painful, then whiny people will take the easy way out. If the desertion was penalized more, Germany wouldn’t be in the sad state it is in.
