As a direct answer to the original post without regarding anything anyone said (yes I read it)
I think it is really well balanced. There have been a lot of post saying Germans are op because of X or Y and likewise there are posts saying that the US is op. As of late it has become the flavor that US is the stronger faction but quite frankly that could change on a whim next week again.
Out of my experience, 400+ hours and finished both campaigns. If you play well and attempt to be the ultimate support player you can carry both teams to victory no matter what side you are on. Usually the side wins that has the most people working together.
Build rally points, use squads/vehicle when you need it. Be fire support when you have a lot of pushers or push when you are needed to do that. Improvise adapt and overcome, true for this game for sure.
the hardest map is the airfield, I’ve never won it in Americans. at the moment I can’t understand how we can win it. it is impossible to attack clearly, the Germans have too much scope of view on the American team, this makes the actions impossible.
I also played in German, I confirm that it’s just abused, we spot the easy mobile spawn, we see the tanks arrived 10km, sniper the drill allows us to see them arrive and shoot pigeons!
also for this airfield map, it would be nice if those who destroy the balloons recovers the score, because on one of my games in Americans, I destroyed all the balloons, so I gave back a lot of reinforcement to my team but I did u 0 score points for that, so givesz time to the team does not help and penalizes our score.
It honestly is quite easy to win on D-Day as the Americans. Your team only needs to play the objective the slightest amount and the Germans will have a hard time. Have a semi-competent team and even a good German team will be hard pressed. The only times I win on D-Day as the Germans are when my team is semi-competent and the American team is absolutely horrible and doesn’t seek the objective. Rarely is it that a battle is even. It also depends on the servers you play on. I play on European and East European servers because the Germans are more likely to have a decent team on there, whereas the Germans often get steamrolled on American servers.
This map made me rethink my assault strategy. I now have my assault squad with smg + explosives. The hang on characters all have a grenade pouch with 3 smokes so that is 9 smokes in total. Which is enough to cover for the entire team.
I do admit it is the hardest map to attack. Which makes it fun to me but I can easely understand how that turns in frustration if it does not work out tbh.
allies have it hard? do you know how much harder it is to play on normandy campaign as germany? most german players that have panzers dont use it, meanwhile allies use the sherman, the puma (sdkfz) has a hard time penning it unless from the side, its just bs, the sherman can abuse its invincibility by just raining down hell on a point to the germans
My biggest in balance is when one team is able to call in artillery, planes, tanks, mortars, etc constantly. Pretty much devastates the other team. You have planes dropping 500lb bombs and upwards. Appears the team with the higher ranking players will dominate the game. That is the way it is even if it PMO lol.
